Is Brie Larson having cold feet about marrying fiance Alex Greenwald? One of this week's tabloids claims the actress's busy career is causing her to "pump the brakes" on planning her wedding. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we've learned the truth.
Larson and Greenwald have been engaged since March 2016, and according to OK!, the reason the two have yet to walk down the aisle is because the actress is more concerned with her career than her relationship. A supposed insider tells the magazine, "Alex has been incredibly patient while Brie's dedicated the past year to her Captain Marvel role, with insane workouts, filming and promotional work."
The questionable source adds, "It doesn't look like it's going to end there, because she's shooting another movie right now and still has a few more projects lined up. Even when she does have downtime, the wedding isn't high on the agenda. Hopefully she'll be able to pencil Alex in."
Although it's obvious that Larson has a very busy schedule and successful film career, the idea that she's having second thoughts about getting married simply isn't the case. The outlet's article is based on claims from an anonymous and untraceable "source," but Gossip Cop checked in with the actress's rep, who tells us on the record that the tabloid's report is "not true."
Meanwhile, there's plenty of evidence that the actress's relationship with the musician is going strong. Earlier this week, Larson shared an Instagram video of her fiance serenading her at a restaurant on her 29th birthday. "That was the most beautiful rendition of 'Happy Birthday' I've ever heard," the actress says with a laugh in the video.
Additionally, Larson opened up about her relationship in an interview with USA Today in August, noting that her fiance is a big supporter of her career. "I don't think I could do any of this without my person," she said. And when Us Weekly asked Larson about the musician this past June, she said, "He's just a really good person."
The tabloid's report seems to have been concocted because Larson has been engaged for more than two years and hasn't gotten married yet. That doesn't mean she's changed her mind, and it's clear the actress is very much in love with her fiance. Taking time to plan a wedding isn't indicative of having "cold feet." The magazine's account of Larson and Greenwald's relationship simply isn't accurate.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
