Are Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga really recording a song for the singer’s new album? That’s the claim in one of this week’s tabloids, which further alleges Irina Shayk is unhappy about the supposed duet. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we’ve learned the truth.

According to Heat, the A Star Is Born co-stars are reuniting for a charity single that will be featured on Gaga’s next album. The outlet claims the track will aim to shine a light on young people struggling with mental health issues. “She and Bradley will do a duet for charity which is intended to raise millions for mental health provisions in schools,” a supposed source tells the magazine.

The suspicious insider adds, “Since singing ‘Shallow’ together proved to be so popular with fans, they’ve come up with another song based on the doubts that young people can often feel about themselves but are afraid to share with adults.” The questionable tipster further contends that Shayk is upset about the reunion because she’s “had enough” of the romance rumors surrounding her boyfriend and his co-star, “especially because people are labeling her a doormat. She just wants Gaga out of her life.”

The tabloid’s story is based on claims from an anonymous and seemingly nonexistent “source,” but Gossip Cop checked in with Gaga’s spokesperson, who tells us on the record that it’s untrue. Despite what the outlet’s unidentified “insider” claims, a rep qualified to speak on the singer’s behalf tells us she and Cooper aren’t recording a single for her upcoming album.

This idea that Shayk is disturbed by Cooper and Gaga’s friendship isn’t true either. For starters, the Russian supermodel gave the two a standing ovation following their performance at the Oscars last month. Shayk was also photographed hugging Gaga after the singer won the award for Best Original Song. And it goes without saying, but the model isn’t upset about an imaginary musical reunion between the pair.

It’s worth noting, this isn’t the first time we’ve had to debunk a bogus story about the co-stars collaborating again. Gossip Cop recently called out OK! for wrongly reporting that Cooper and Gaga were teaming up for a Cleopatra biopic. Neither star is attached to the project. We also debunked a report about Gaga and Cooper singing a duet at her wedding to Christian Carino. Of course, the singer has since called off her engagement, but there was no duet being planned in the first place.
