A tabloid claims Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga were "all over each other" at an Oscar party last month, to the point where other guests became convinced they're having an affair. The story is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
According to the Globe, the A Star Is Born co-stars got touchy-feely during an Oscars after-party while the actor's girlfriend Irina Shayk "sulked in the background." A supposed source tells the magazine, "It's pretty obvious to everyone who watched them that there was something going on, and people are buzzing like crazy and speculating Gaga and Bradley must be cheating behind the scenes."
The alleged insider further contends that Shayk was "furious over how steamy they were on stage together and all night at the after-party." The questionable tipster goes on to say that Cooper ignored his girlfriend at the bash and instead "embraced and had an intimate chat" with Gaga.
"They couldn't get enough of each other," adds the seemingly phony source. "They were hugging and leaning in close to talk in each other's ear." The so-called "insider" further maintains that Cooper and Gaga were inseparable "for almost two hours" while Shayk "sat on a couch at the back of the room."
None of this is accurate. This story seems to have been concocted based on a few photos taken at the Warner Bros Pictures Post-Oscar Party, during which Cooper and Gaga chatted while his girlfriend sat on a couch behind them. The idea that Shayk spent the entire night on the couch while her boyfriend got cozy with his co-star is simply untrue.
Still, Gossip Cop reached out to Gaga's spokesperson, who tells us on the record that the magazine's story is "false." Despite what the outlet's anonymous and seemingly imaginary "source" says, a rep qualified to speak on the singer's behalf confirms that she and Cooper weren't "all over each other" after the Oscars.
Unfortunately, Gossip Cop frequently has to correct stories alleging Cooper is two-timing his girlfriend with his co-star. Back in October, the Globe's sister publication, In Touch, falsely claimed Cooper and Shayk were headed for a split over his close bond with Gaga. The actor and the Russian supermodel, who share a nearly two-year-old daughter, are still very much together.
In January, the same outlet concocted a phony story about Shayk and Gaga getting into a fight over Cooper at the Golden Globe Awards. No such incident occurred. This ongoing saga surrounding the actor, his girlfriend and his co-star is simply baseless.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
