Bradley Cooper has not been “crying on Lady Gaga‘s shoulder” amid his split from Irina Shayk, despite a made-up tabloid report. The story simply isn’t accurate. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
According to the National Enquirer, the actor has been leaning on his A Star Is Born co-star for support following his breakup. A supposed source tells the magazine, “Bradley has been calling Gaga nonstop. He goes to her for advice on everything – which is pretty insensitive right now.”
The alleged insider further contends that Shayk is bound to be “mortified” when she learns that Cooper “has already run back” to her so-called “rival.” Gossip Cop, however, checked in with a source close to the singer, who wasn’t able to speak on the record, but assures us the magazine’s premise is untrue. The actor hasn’t been trying to get over his split by turning to Gaga “for everything.” The notion that the actor’s co-star is the one navigating him through his breakup simply isn’t correct.
It’s worth noting, People magazine reported last week that Cooper and Gaga still share an “overwhelming connection” after forming a close bond on the set of their film. Despite the two being close friends, Cooper hasn’t been seeking comfort in his co-star, or turning to the singer “for advice on everything.”
Back in March, Gossip Cop called out the Enquirer for falsely claiming Shayk was forcing Cooper to choose between her and Gaga. That bogus story was published shortly after the A Star Is Born co-stars performed a duet together at the Oscars. The tabloid alleged that following the ceremony, Gaga sent Shayk an email promising “she’d never try to steal another woman’s man,” but the supermodel “didn’t reply.” That phony scenario never occurred.
That same month, Gossip Cop busted the magazine’s sister publication, OK!, for making up a story about Cooper and Gaga getting engaged and buying a house together in Los Angeles. Shortly before that, the tabloid’s other sister outlet, Star, wrongly speculated that Gaga was pregnant with Cooper’s baby. None of those absurd tales panned out.
The gossip media concocted a lot of phony narratives about Cooper and Gaga when the actor was still with Shayk, and a new crop of bogus stories are emerging now that the actor and his girlfriend of four years have split. The tabloids simply have no insight into the situation. Gossip Cop can confirm that the actor isn’t “crying” on his co-star’s shoulder, despite the two still having a close friendship.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
