One of the tabloids claims the reason Irina Shayk didn't attend a recent awards ceremony honoring Bradley Cooper is because they're splitting. The claim is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
Last month, the Star is Born director and actor was honored at the American Cinematheque Awards, where stars such as Lady Gaga, Jennifer Garner and Sean Penn took the stage to pay him tribute. Cooper's girlfriend, with whom he shares a 20-month-old daughter, wasn't in attendance at the gala. The model's absence has led Life & Style to wrongly report that she and Cooper are breaking up.
A supposed source tells the magazine, "It was clearly one of the most important nights of his career. Most of the stars brought their other halves, except for Bradley. Rumors are swirling that the couple are splitting."
Here's what the magazine doesn't mention. Just a few days after the American Cinematheque Awards, Cooper supported Shayk at her Versace fashion show in New York City. The two are still very much together. The supermodel didn't skip her boyfriend's awards ceremony because they're having relationship problems. Cooper and Shayk choose to keep their romance private, which is one of the reasons they don't always attend each other's events. The actor even explained on "The Howard Stern Show" a few years ago that he doesn't take his girlfriend to awards shows because they try to avoid media scrutiny.
Additionally, Cooper and Shayk were spotted smiling during an outing with their daughter in New York's Central Park last week. The following day, Cooper and Shayk brought their little girl to take a photo with Santa Claus at The Grove shopping complex in Los Angeles. These are just two recent examples of the happy couple being spotted out and about together.
Meanwhile, Gossip Cop called out Life & Style last month for falsely claiming that Cooper and Shayk's relationship was in trouble because she was spotted walking a red carpet without the emerald ring she often wears. Shortly before that, we called out the tabloid for publishing a phony cover story suggesting that Cooper was in love with Lady Gaga.
Despite how many times we've debunked rumors of relationship problems between Cooper and Shayk, Gossip Cop once again checked in with a source close to the couple. We've learned the magazine's latest take on the subject is as wrong as the previous ones. There's simply no truth to this ongoing narrative about the actor and model being headed for a split.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
