One of this week’s tabloids alleges that Bradley Cooper‘s ego has been out of control following the success of A Star Is Born. The magazine further contends that the actor is shunning his Hollywood friends as a result. The story is entirely false. Gossip Cop can correct it.
“Bradley: Party Of One” reads a headline in the latest issue of OK! The accompanying article says all the praise that Cooper received for A Star Is Born, which he wrote, directed and starred in, has gone to his head. A supposed source tells the magazine, “He hasn’t been hanging out with his usual friends, like Leonardo DiCaprio and Michael Fassbender.”
The seemingly phony insider continues, “The fact that he expected to be handed a load of Oscars turned people off.” The questionable tipster goes on to say that Cooper has been spending most of his time with family following awards season, and is “hoping to reconnect with some of his old buddies,” but first “he just needs to stop taking himself so seriously.”
The tabloid’s premise doesn’t make much sense from the start. According to the magazine, the best example of Cooper having a big “ego” is that he’s spending more time with girlfriend Irina Shayk and their daughter than he is with his Hollywood pals. True or not, there’s no real connection there and it doesn’t back up the outlet’s storyline in any way.
It’s worth noting, Cooper served on the host committee of the 17th annual “Night Before” party last month. DiCaprio, who’s also a member of the host committee, joined the actor at the star-studded event, which is held the night before the Oscars. Meanwhile, Cooper was spotted hanging out with Freddie Prinze Jr. in Los Angeles earlier this week. Earlier this month, Cooper had dinner at Jennifer Garner’s house. The idea that he’s been shunning his famous pals simply isn’t accurate.
The outlet’s additional claim that the actor had “expected to be handed a load of Oscars” isn’t true either. Last month, Cooper admitted he “felt embarrassed” after being snubbed for a Best Director nomination. The actor added, “I was not surprised, I’m never surprised about not getting nominated.”
In addition to all of the holes in the tabloid’s story, Gossip Cop is assured by a source close to Cooper that it’s “not true.” Our trustworthy insider adds, “Nothing has changed with him. If you ask any of his friends they would say the same.”
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
