One of this week's tabloids claims Bradley Cooper wears a hat whenever he's out in public because he's worried he's losing his hair. The story isn't accurate. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
A headline in the latest issue of Star reads, "Shallow Bradley's Hair-Y Situation!" The accompanying article says the actor is panicking over his supposedly thinning hair, so he hides under a cap any chance he gets. "He's self-conscious and wears hats when he goes out because he doesn't want anyone to notice," a supposed source tells the magazine.
The alleged insider goes on to say that Cooper's bald spot is "barely the size of a pea," but he's still freaking out over the appearance of his locks. "He wants to get hair plugs before he loses any more," adds the suspicious tipster. "Male pattern baldness is totally natural, but Bradley will spend any amount of money to get his thick hair back."
This bogus story seems to have been written simply because the actor wears a baseball cap on occasion. However, there are countless instances where he's been out and about in public without covering his head. Cooper was recently spotted strolling in New York City without a hat. Shortly before that, Cooper was spotted on a beach in Santa Monica with girlfriend Irina Shayk and their young daughter, and his head was completely visible.
In fact, there have been various outings where Cooper's girlfriend is the one wearing a hat while his head was bare. On more than one occasion in New York City over the winter, Shayk can be seen donning a winter beanie, while the actor goes hatless. If one were eager to constantly cover their scalp, a cold day would be a good excuse to wear a hat. Cooper, however, opted for a scarf instead.
Additionally, it's not unusual for a celebrity to wear a baseball cap out in public, as many do so to avoid being recognized. Regardless of the magazine's story lacking logic and evidence, Gossip Cop still checked in with a source close to Cooper, who wasn't able to speak on the record, but assures us it's all nonsense.
Star is the same tabloid that Gossip Cop busted last month for falsely claiming Lady Gaga was stealing Cooper from his girlfriend. Shortly before that, the outlet wrongly alleged that Cooper and Shayk were headed for a split over his supposed refusal to get married. The publication has a habit of printing fiction about the actor, and this latest article is another example.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
