One of this week's tabloids claims Bradley Cooper will sometimes stay at Gerard Butler's apartment in New York City after getting into fights with Irina Shayk. The story is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk it.
According to Life & Style, the supermodel has "deep-rooted trust issues" and her boyfriend's friendship with A Star Is Born co-star Lady Gaga "is causing a rift between them." An alleged insider tells the magazine, "They've been arguing for months. Irina is fed up with the way he idolizes Gaga."
The questionable source goes on to say that Shayk often accuses Cooper of cheating, "even when she has no reason or evidence." The suspicious tipster adds, "Bradley has even gone to stay at his pal Gerard Butler's apartment after arguments." The "insider" further speculates that the situation between the couple will get worse as Cooper and Gaga gear up for awards season, and the actor could be the one to end their relationship if his girlfriend doesn't do it first. The supposed source concludes, "All of these jealous fights have pushed him to the brink."
Despite what the magazine's seemingly nonexistent "insider" says, Gossip Cop checked in with Cooper's rep, who tells us on the record there's "no truth" to the report. Just last week, Life & Style's sister publication, In Touch, made up a story about Cooper and Shayk being headed for a split over his friendship with Gaga. The premise wasn't true then and it's no more accurate now, despite the tabloid coming up with a way to drag Butler into the phony narrative.
As we previously noted, Cooper and his girlfriend have been photographed with their daughter in New York City several times over the past week, and they always look happy together. One article even noted that Cooper and Shayk looked "completely smitten" while taking a stroll together. Pictures from the outing showed the two with big smiles on their faces and their arms wrapped around each other.
Meanwhile, Shayk said in an interview with "Extra" this week that she's proud of Cooper and the success he's having with A Star Is Born. There's no jealousy or love triangle between the actor, his girlfriend and his co-star, despite the gossip media recycling this bogus premise. Life & Style simply decided to throw one of Cooper's celebrity friends into the fake storyline. A spokesperson qualified to speak on the actor's behalf assures us he hasn't been staying at Butler's apartment amid nonexistent fights with his girlfriend.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
