The cover of a new tabloid story makes it seem as if Brad Pitt has won custody of his and Angelina Jolie‘s six kids, but it’s actually a misleading bait-and-switch. Gossip Cop can expose the deceptive article, which also includes falsehoods about the actor supposedly reuniting with Jennifer Aniston. A spokesperson for Pitt tells us it’s “nonsense.”
“Brad Wins Kids!” reads the cover of the latest issue of Life & Style. Right below that, it says Jolie “finally gave up” and is “heartbroken” over the situation. The accompanying article inside the issue, however, maintains that the actress still has “physical custody” and the estranged spouses have yet to settle their custody negotiations.
According to the tabloid, an alleged insider says Pitt was “livid” when he learned Jolie plans to take the children to London later this month while she films the sequel to Maleficent. As the story goes, the actor vented his frustration to Jolie, who caved in and “promised Brad that he can spend longer periods of time with the kids both before and after the trip.”
The purported source contends that Pitt “considers her granting him more time with them a real win in their custody battle.” Only, the cover of the gossip magazine implies the actor has already won legal custody from Jolie, while the article simply says he “considers” more time with the children to be “a win.” That’s hardly the same thing. Additionally, an unnamed and presumably untraceable “family friend” says Jolie has agreed to let Pitt visit the kids in London, but she’s “heartbroken” at the prospect and is only doing so “to keep him from contesting her London move.”
The publication proves itself to be less than credible when it ends its piece with false rumors about Pitt rekindling with Aniston. “Jen has even met some of the kids,” maintains the tabloid’s seemingly phony source. “She found the kids well-mannered, bright and precocious.” Only, reps for both stars have told Gossip Cop on the record that they haven’t reconciled, and she’s certainly never spent any time with her ex-husband’s children. In fact, People confirmed this in a story about how Pitt and Aniston “haven’t seen each other in ages.”
As for Jolie, it’s true the actress is expected to start shooting Maleficent 2 in London later this month, but the tabloid’s assertion that she and Pitt battled over the situation is false. Several reputable outlets have noted that Pitt and Jolie are working amicably to resolve their custody issues. The exes are also coordinating their schedules so both can spend time with the kids.
To summarize, the cover of Life & Style first tries to dupe readers into believing Pitt won full custody of his children, but the inside story notes he doesn’t have custody. Next, the tabloid wrongly contends the actor fought Jolie over her temporarily relocating to London, so she reluctantly granted him visitation. To cap it off, Aniston is arbitrarily thrown into the bogus narrative, and it’s falsely asserted she’s met and hung out with Pitt’s kids. It’s apparent the magazine has zero insight into any of this, as Pitt’s own spokesperson tells Gossip Cop it’s “nonsense.”
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
