Brad Pitt is NOT living in a "sober house," despite a report from one of the tabloids. Gossip Cop can exclusively set the record straight.

The National Enquirer blares in its new issue, "Brad In Hideout To Dry Out!" It's alleged Pitt is staying at a "secret beach retreat to kick booze and pot with [a] support group of pals." Writes the supermarket tabloid, "Brad Pitt has settled into a secret 'sober house' — where he's battling his bad-boy addictions to drugs and booze with the help of a handpicked posse!"

But what the magazine claims is an "ultra-private California retreat" is actually a residence Pitt owns in Santa Barbara. It's a regular, ol' home, not any kind of "sober house," and there's nothing "secret" about it. Nevertheless, a so-called "close pal" is quoted as telling the publication, "It's been a huge lifestyle change, but Brad's snuffed out the weed for good. He's swapped joints for juicing, and beers for bike rides with buddies. He's left the sins of the city behind for fresh sea air and a new start!"

"His friends are keeping an eye on him and making sure he doesn't get bored or lonely," a supposed "insider" tells the outlet. Another "source" says it's all part of a plan to "make things as painless as possible for him while he tries to say on the path to sobriety." And these claims come on the heels of the tabloid's recent cover story about Pitt going to rehab for a five-night "sober retreat" at a cost of $15,000.

But a rep for the actor exclusively told Gossip Cop that allegation was completely untrue. Now we've learned this new claim about a "sober house" is made up as well. Pitt is certainly living a healthy lifestyle and may spend time at his Santa Barbara estate, but it is in no way a "sober house." The spokesperson exclusively tells Gossip Cop the National Enquirer story is "complete and total nonsense."
