A new tabloid report alleges Brad Pitt is spending a “fortune” in an effort to stay sober, but the claim isn’t at all accurate. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this fake news story.

As Gossip Cop reported, Pitt admitted in a recent GQ cover story that he had a drinking problem, but has now been sober for around six months. The National Enquirer, however, is purporting that the actor is shelling out thousands of dollars a day to maintain his sobriety. A supposed “insider” tells the magazine that one of Pitt’s expenses is a “sober chef,” who has “worked out a meal plan with him that is specifically designed for people who have quit boozing and drugs.”

The outlet’s seemingly phony source further claims the actor is paying a number of other specialists to help him stay clean, including a sober coach. “On any given day, Brad’s forking out up to $4,500,” adds the dubious insider. Gossip Cop, however, checked in with a rep for Pitt, who exclusively tells us the tabloid’s story is “false.” The actor is in fact seeking help for his alcohol issues, including seeing a therapist, but he’s simply not spending thousands of dollars a day to quit booze.

Unfortunately, the Enquirer has published a number of bogus articles surrounding the actor’s sobriety. Gossip Cop previously busted the tabloid for wrongly reporting that Pitt was forced into rehab. We also debunked the publication’s phony story about Pitt living in a sober house. This latest claim from the often unreliable magazine is equally untrue.
