Brad Pitt did not "risk his health" by attending the Glastonbury Festival, despite a report from the tabloids. Gossip Cop can bust this sensational story.

The article can be found in the pages of the National Enquirer, which exclaims, "'Sober' Brad Parties Till Dawn!" The sub-headline asserts, "[Pitt] risks his health and custody chances at music fest bash!" The supermarket tabloid claims the "bleary-eyed" actor was "the last man standing at a boozy music festival, putting both his sobriety and custody of his kids in jeopardy!"

It's asserted that Pitt stayed out partying until 3 a.m., but it's telling that the gossip magazine acknowledges he "avoided alcohol." And yet this "exclusive" is filled with speculative quotes about him possibly drinking at the event. "Brad's behavior is raising alarm bells. Even if he did stay sober in Glastonbury, most of the people he was partying with were drunk, and booze was flowing nonstop," a so-called "insider" claims to the outlet.

This supposed snitch continues, "If he's back drinking, he's ruining all the hard work he put in to getting clean, and gaining custody of the kids. And for what? One weekend of partying? That's nuts!" But the publication has no evidence that Pitt was drinking, and the suggestion that he might lose custody of his children because he spent time at a music festival with other drinkers is nonsense.

The tabloid's alleged tipster still concludes Pitt is "heading for a major relapse." That has been the magazine's inaccurate angle for a while now. In mid-May, the outlet published a story speculating the deaths of Chris Cornell and Brad Grey would cause Pitt to "relapse." Another article at the end of the month said Pitt was having a "breakdown" and on the verge of a "relapse." Gossip Cop confirmed, however, that he was healthy, and we were assured no one in his circle was discussing such matters with the disreputable publication.

And the National Enquirer is not running these pieces out of concern. The outlet just wants to give the appearance of drama, and often concocts health-related stories to do so. But aside from the gossip media spreading misinformation about him, Pitt is doing just fine.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
