Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow are not in a "secret relationship," even platonically, despite a report claiming they're getting "close again." Gossip Cop can exclusively bust the story, which comes more than a year after a similarly untrue article from the same webloid.

"Secret Reunion! Inside Gwyneth Paltrow's Hush-Hush Relationship With Brad Pitt," RadarOnline is blaring in a headline. According to the site, the exes are "reuniting by bonding over divorce" and have formed a "secret relationship." In fact, it's even alleged the "now-divorcees are finding comfort in the arms of one another." Paltrow is "still extremely fond of Brad, and he's grateful to have her in his corner," a so-called "insider" is quoted as saying.

But after first hinting a romance could be brewing again, the outlet cautions, "While fans may be eager to see the ex-lovebirds back together romantically, the source insists that's not the case." In fact, this supposed "source" goes on to assert, "This isn't about flirting or trying to rewrite their past, but two mature adults bonding over a lot of shared experiences." Still, the online publication can't help but suggest, "Perhaps there's still hope for a rekindled romance between the two."

As evidence, the blog points to Paltrow's 2015 interview with Howard Stern, in which she said of her old flame, "I definitely fell in love with him. He was so gorgeous and sweet and, I mean, he was Brad Pitt, you know?" But that has no bearing on their dynamic today. And Paltrow is currently 100 percent committed to Brad Falchuk. Regardless, though, there's nothing going on between the actress and Pitt even platonically, contacts close to the situation tell Gossip Cop exclusively. As opposed to the blog's unnamed "insider," Paltrow's rep tells us on the record, "It's all a fabrication," while a rep for Pitt confirms to Gossip Cop it's "bull."

What's more is this isn't the first time the webloid has tried to link the exes since Pitt's separation from Angelina Jolie last year. In a previous tale from October 2016, the blog claimed Paltrow was giving him divorce advice. A spokesperson at the time confirmed to Gossip Cop the claims were "made-up." Now in December 2017, the outlet is broaching the subject again with more falsehoods. Should it try once more in the fall of 2018, we'll be here to investigate again.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
