Angelina Jolie did not fire a nanny for flirting with Brad Pitt, despite a report that is both late and wrong. Gossip Cop can again bust the claim.

As Gossip Cop has reported, Jolie and Pitt are divorcing after more than 10 years together and two years of marriage. Now RadarOnline is using the news to regurgitate an old, debunked claim from its sister outlet, the National Enquirer. The online headline reads, “Hot & Heavy! ‘Paranoid’ Angie FIRED Nanny After Brad’s Flirt Fest.”

The timing of the story makes it seem like the alleged firing just happened and is related to the couple’s divorce, but the accompanying article acknowledges that this incident supposedly went down “months” ago. “Sources revealed to the National Enquirer that Jolie, 41, ‘confronted the nanny and a huge screaming match erupted’ after her flirting got out of line,” writes the webloid. It quotes one of the tabloid’s “insiders” as saying, “It became obvious this nanny was flirting around him and being a little too friendly.”

“That was the final straw for Angie. Of course, she didn’t hesitate to pull the trigger, and the nanny packed her things and was gone faster than you could imagine,” the supposed source told the tabloid. The outlet’s alleged tipster went on say to that Jolie “doesn’t think anything happened between them, but she noticed the nanny was always at the pool when Brad was there. Her paranoia grew even further when she saw him fresh out of the shower wrapped in just a towel, getting some juice while the nanny was also in the kitchen with a huge smile on her face!”

But Gossip Cop called out this untrue tall tale when the National Enquirer first published it back in March. At the time, we were told it’s “nonsense,” and that’s still the case. The piece was one in a series of false articles the supermarket tabloid has printed about the couple this year. That includes a July story erroneously claiming Pitt and Jolie planned to renew their vows.

Now RadarOnline is only bringing the nanny allegation back up to sensationalize Jolie and Pitt’s split. But as Gossip Cop has already reported, their divorce has nothing to do with cheating and infidelity. There was no third party, nanny or otherwise, involved in the breakup.
