One of this week's tabloid claims Margot Robbie's husband Tom Ackerley is worried about her chemistry with Brad Pitt on the set of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The premise is both late and wrong. Gossip Cop can once again debunk it.
Last week, Life & Style falsely claimed that Robbie's husband was "keeping a close eye" on Pitt because he didn't trust the actor working so closely with his wife. The unreliable outlet further contended that Ackerley discovered the actor has a "crush" on Robbie, so he's been showing up on set to send a message to"steer clear" of his wife."Tom doesn't want them socializing offset, and he's told Margot that he won't stand for it," a supposed source told the magazine.
The storyline is simply untrue. "Entertainment Tonight" recently reported that Pitt "has taken a step away from dating" amid his custody battle with Angelina Jolie because he "doesn't want to rock the boat." It's safe to say the movie star isn't looking to have an affair with a married woman as he attempts to win joint custody of his children. The outlet further noted that when Pitt isn't busy shooting the movie, he's focused on getting visitation time with his kids. Ackerley has no reason to worry about the actor trying to pursue his wife.
Unfortunately, OK! Australia has recycled this bogus story in its latest issue. An alleged source tells the magazine, "It's obvious that Brad's completely smitten with Margot. If she wasn't married, there's no doubt whatsoever he'd be asking her out in a heartbeat." But as noted above, Pitt's keeping his love life is on the back burner as he continues to navigate his contentious divorce.
Meanwhile, E! News published an article about Robbie and Ackerly's marriage back in January, and noted in the piece, "Tom is very supportive of her and travels with her and is on set all the time." Even if the actress's husband has been stopping by the set of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and there are no photos to actually prove it, his presence has nothing to do with Pitt. It's clear the assistant director has a history of visiting his wife at work.
Additionally, these bogus articles about Pitt and Robbie have been cropping up ever since it was announced they'd be working together. Earlier this year, for example, Gossip Cop busted OK! for making up a story about Pitt being "obsessed" with Robbie. The actor's own rep has already dismissed these phony reports as being "entirely predictable." This latest article fits into that category.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
