Brad Pitt is not “in love” with Margot Robbie, despite on of this week’s tabloids claiming the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood co-stars have a “forbidden romance.” Gossip Cop can debunk the story. There’s zero truth to it.
According to Life & Style, Pitt “found solace” in his co-star on the set of their film last year amid his tumultuous divorce from Angelina Jolie. “Seeing Margot always brought a huge smile to his face,” a supposed source tells the magazine. “She’s the complete opposite of his ex – fun, carefree, witty and accepts him for who he is.”
The alleged insider further contends that “everyone on set was talking” about the chemistry between Pitt and Robbie, “especially when they’d disappear off together and hang out in their trailers.” The anonymous tipster also maintains that the two stars would “secretly text” throughout the shoot.
From there, the seemingly phony source maintains that Pitt and Robbie have gotten even closer now that they’ve reunited to promote the film around the world. “Brad’s telling pals that she’s a breath of fresh air,” adds the unidentified insider. “He just seems to be mesmerized by her beauty and charm. And there’s no denying the chemistry between them. Brad has fallen for Margot and he’s fallen hard.”
The so-called “source” also alleges that Pitt and Robbie snuck off together during the Cannes Film Festival in May “for dinner at a small, rustic French restaurant,” and “the intimate setting couldn’t have been more romantic. They even joked it was like a date.” The “insider” goes on to say that Pitt “confessed his growing affection for Margot to one of his closest actor friends,” but doesn’t bother to mention which “actor friend” he told.
Robbie is happily married to producer Tom Ackerley, which is why Pitt supposedly “knew he couldn’t tell Margot directly… but that’s not to say she hasn’t picked up on the signals.” The growing bond between the co-stars has caused problems in the actress’s marriage, according to the suspicious source, who claims Ackerley “saw Brad as a threat from the get-go.” The seemingly imaginary insider concludes that Pitt might end up in another “messy love triangle,” as he did when he left Jennifer Aniston for Jolie.
The tabloid’s article is a complete work of fiction. For starters, Pitt and Robbie share hardly any scenes together in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, meaning they weren’t on set together all that much. The actress herself confirmed this in an interview with Porter magazine last year. It’s hard to believe “everyone on set” was talking about their chemistry when they barely worked together.
Additionally, the magazine’s premise is coming from an untraceable “source,” but Pitt’s own spokesperson is going on the record to refute it. Despite what the outlet’s possibly nonexistent “insider” claims, a rep qualified to speak on the actor’s behalf confirms he’s not in love with his married co-star.
It should be noted, Life & Style has spent the past several months making up stories about Pitt rekindling a romance with Aniston. One report that Gossip Cop debunked said the ex-spouses had been on several dates after reuniting at her 50th birthday party in February. A follow-up article claimed Pitt and Aniston spent a romantic weekend in France together. Shortly after that, the unreliable outlet swore Pitt and Aniston went on a “couples retreat” to Rome with George and Amal Clooney.
This latest report involving Robbie makes no mention of Pitt ever getting back together with his ex-wife. The untrustworthy tabloid has decided to trade in one fake narrative in favor of a new one. It’s no more accurate.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
