A tabloid claims Margot Robbie is crushing on Once Upon a Time in Hollywood co-star Brad Pitt and pitching him more projects they should work on in the future. The story is completely made-up. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
"Married Margot's Got It Bad For Brad!" reads a headline in the latest issue of the National Enquirer. The accompanying article says the actress, who's married to producer Tom Ackerley, can't stop herself from flirting with Pitt. "Tom definitely doesn't love the fact that Margot and Brad have such obvious chemistry," a supposed source tells the outlet. "But he knows it's part of the business and he's trying to live with it."
The alleged insider further contends that Robbie has been working hard to ensure she gets to spend more time with Pitt going forward. "She's been openly pitching Brad projects they should work on in the future," adds the seemingly phony tipster. "You have to feel for Tom. Flirting with her handsome co-star is just a part of Margot's personality that he'll have to get used to."
The tabloid hides behind an anonymous and untraceable "source" to sell its phony story, but Gossip Cop reached out to Pitt's spokesperson, who tells us on the record that it's false. Despite what the magazine's so-called "insider" claims, a rep qualified to speak on the actor's behalf tells us Robbie hasn't been flirting with him. We're further told the actress hasn't pitched him any projects to do together. It's also worth noting, Robbie said in an interview last year that she spent very little time with Pitt on set as they don't share many scenes together.
Unfortunately, Gossip Cop has had to correct a slew of phony articles about the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood co-stars. Last year, we busted OK! for falsely claiming Pitt was the one who was "obsessed" with Robbie. Shortly after that, we debunked another story about Pitt hitting on Robbie at an Oscar party.
Gossip Cop later called out RadarOnline for wrongly reporting that Pitt had a "crush" on Robbie and was "getting super close" to her while shooting their movie. Following that nonsense, we shot down a phony article alleging Leonardo DiCaprio called out Pitt for "flirting" with the actress on set.
There's been no truth to this ongoing narrative involving Pitt chasing after Robbie, but now the Enquirer is turning the tables by making it seem as if the actress is the one pursuing her co-star. Unfortunately, Gossip Cop suspects the two stars will be at the center of more false reports leading up to the July release of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
