One of this week's tabloids claims Brad Pitt has been leaning on Margot Robbie amid his divorce from Angelina Jolie. The story is completely made-up. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
According to OK! Australia, the stars formed a "very special bond" while shooting their upcoming movie, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The magazine acknowledges that the relationship between the co-stars isn't romantic, but insists they've grown very close on a deep personal level. A supposed source tells the magazine that Pitt and Robbie plan on meeting up now that their movie has wrapped, "but they aren't telling anyone as they believe the other cast and crew of their latest film are spreading romance rumors about them, which they find upsetting."
The magazine goes on to say that Robbie's friendship "has proved invaluable" to Pitt amid his acrimonious divorce and custody battle. "Sometimes Margot is also a shoulder for Brad to lean on, as he has suffered horribly during his divorce," adds the alleged insider. "He has told friends how kind she is and that she also has a brilliant mind, but people judge her too much on her looks."
The tabloid's report is simply fictional. Robbie said in a recent interview with Porter magazine that she was "barely on set" with Pitt as the two don't share many scenes together in their new movie. It's hard to imagine the co-stars developed an intimate bond when they spent very little time together while shooting their film.
Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who assures us the tabloid's story is made-up. Pitt hasn't turned to Robbie for comfort amid his divorce from Jolie. It's worth noting, the magazine's article also says the co-stars are "almost like siblings," but just a few months ago, the same publication falsely claimed Pitt was "smitten" with Robbie and would ask her out "in a heartbeat" if she wasn't married.
It should also be mentioned, the tabloid consistently makes up stories about the actress's personal life. Last July, Gossip Cop busted the outlet for falsely claiming that Robbie and her husband Tom Ackerley were having marriage problems. Also, the magazine wrongly reported in November that Robbie and her husband were expecting their first child. Neither article was accurate, but it does illustrate how the publication can't keep its bogus stories straight. This latest report about the actress having a private and personal bond with Pitt is more fiction.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
