Leonardo DiCaprio isn’t lending a helping hand in Brad Pitt’s love life, despite many recent tabloid stories claiming otherwise. Gossip Cop has debunked many bogus reports on the subject. Here are a few wrong rumors.

Last month, Gossip Cop busted Star for making up a story about DiCaprio “playing cupid” for Pitt. The magazine maintained that the younger actor was trying get Pitt back into the dating world after becoming legally single in his divorce from Angelina Jolie. The outlet further contended that DiCaprio wanted to set up his Once Upon a Time in Hollywood co-star with a supermodel. The premise was based on claims from an anonymous “source,” but DiCaprio’s own spokesperson went on to record to dismiss it as fiction. Around the same time, People magazine reported that Pitt is “more focused on being a dad than on dating.”

Last August, Gossip Cop called out Naughty Gossip for falsely claiming Pitt had turned down DiCaprio’s offer to join his group of party friends and hang out with “lots of pretty girls.” According to the blog, DiCaprio wanted his co-star to become a member of his clique and meet beautiful women in the process, but Pitt passed on the opportunity because he was “too concerned about his kids and his ugly divorce” from Jolie. Although it’s true that the Fight Club star has put dating on the back burner, DiCaprio never asked him to go around Hollywood and hit on women. Pitt’s own rep told us on the record that the premise was fabricated.

Shortly before that, Gossip Cop debunked a Star story claiming DiCaprio was setting Pitt up with models. The outlet alleged that during his downtime from filming Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, DiCaprio was trying to find his co-star a girlfriend, and “even gave him permission to hook up with any his exes.” The tabloid further insisted that DiCaprio had asked his model girlfriend Camila Morrone to introduce Pitt to a few of her friends. We corrected the phony article as soon as it emerged, and “Entertainment Tonight” similarly reported at the time that Pitt had “taken a step away from dating because of the importance of his children.” That remains the case.

And finally, Gossip Cop busted HollywoodLife last year for insisting that Pitt and DiCaprio were planning to “double date” while working together on Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. An anonymous source was quoted as saying, “They know the fun they could have as a team as eligible bachelors.” Pitt’s own rep told us the story was made-up, and also pointed out that the actor would be spending time with his kids when he wasn’t shooting. The blog simply concocted a phony narrative to capitalize on the news that the two movies stars would be working together for the first time.
