The bromance is strong between Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio. Gossip Cop attended the Golden Globes on Sunday night, and we noticed that the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood co-stars were attached at the hip backstage. So much so that DiCaprio sat and waited for Pitt as the Ad Astra star used the restroom.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood earned a number of awards at Sunday night's ceremony. Quentin Tarantino won the award for Best Screenplay, Pitt nabbed a Best Supporting Actor win, and the film itself was named Best Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. DiCaprio lost Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy to Rocketman star Taron Egerton, but he was still in good spirits backstage and seemed excited for his director and co-star.
As the talent behind the film made their way to the press room for a photo shoot, Pitt made a pitstop at a restroom located in the hallway. Instead of walking ahead to the press room with everyone else, DiCaprio decided he'd rather wait for his co-star. The actor took a seat at one of the chairs located outside of the door of the bathroom. Once Pitt finished his business, DiCaprio followed his co-star into the press room. It was a very endearing moment and proves just how close the bond is between the co-stars.
Pitt also made sure to praise DiCaprio during his acceptance speech. "I also have to thank my partner in crime, LDC," the actor said from the stage. "He's an all-star, he's a gent, and I wouldn't be here without you, man. I thank you." DiCaprio clearly took the message to heart, as it seems he didn't want to leave his co-star's side for the rest of the night.
Gossip Cop should note, the tabloids have zero insight into the relationship between the co-stars. In October 2018, we busted an OK! story about Pitt and DiCaprio feuding on the set of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. That article claimed the two had "an intense professional rivalry and don't actually have much in common." It was further alleged that Pitt was "a little threatened by Leo," and the two would "go their separate ways" as soon as they finished a scene. At the time the story was published, Pitt's own spokesperson assured us it was all nonsense. It certainly was.
In May 2019, Gossip Cop called out NW for making up a ridiculous story about Pitt and DiCaprio fighting over co-star Margot Robbie. The tabloid claimed both men were vying for the actress's attention, to the point where it was getting "awkward" between all of them. Nothing about the report was remotely true. Robbie is happily married, while DiCaprio has been dating model Camila Morrone for nearly two years. As for Pitt, the actor used his Golden Globes speech to poke fun at all of the dating rumors surrounding him. "I wanted to bring my mom but I couldn't, because anyone I stand next to they say I'm dating," he joked during his speech.
Gossip Cop can't always predict what fiction the tabloids will print next, but if there are any additional feud rumors between Pitt and DiCaprio, they'll be unequivocally false. We also hope everyone has a friend who will gladly wait for them while they use the restroom.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is accurate to the best of our ability.
