Brad Pitt just confirmed what Gossip Cop has said all along: he hasn’t dated a single one of the women he’s been linked to since his split from Angelina Jolie. The actor opened up in a new interview about what’s written about him in the press, and suggests that tabloids are the worst offenders. Pitt’s latest interview also backs up every false story we’ve corrected about the movie star since his 2016 split.
On Tuesday, the New York Times published a profile on Pitt, who spoke to the newspaper about his career and his personal life. When asked if he was aware of his “public persona” and how he’s represented in the media, Pitt revealed, “I stopped reading all press about 2004. Not just reviews. I mean any magazine in the doctor’s office.” Anyone who’s been to a doctor’s office will be aware that the tabloids are made readily available prior to checkups.
Pitt continued, “People always say they don’t read about themselves. I never believe it. I don’t go out of my way to avoid it; I just don’t seek it out. I don’t know how many women they’ve said I’ve been dating the last two or three years, and none of it’s true.” In the three-plus years since the actor’s marriage to Jolie ended, he’s been linked to countless women. Gossip Cop was the first to report that none of it’s true.
At the top of the list is Jennifer Aniston. Immediately after the Friends star announced her split from Justin Theroux in early 2018, the tabloids have jumped at the opportunity to reunite her and Pitt. Last year, Gossip Cop busted In Touch for publishing a bogus cover story about Pitt and Aniston getting married and having a baby. Spokespeople for both stars have assured Gossip Cop countless times that they haven’t rekindled a romance. Pitt and Aniston are on friendly terms, and even attended her 50th birthday party in February. As for a romance, that ship has sailed.
There was also a period earlier this year when several outlets pushed an ongoing narrative about Pitt dating Charlize Theron. Gossip Cop immediately squashed the rumors, which included the two getting married and having a baby together. Many tabloids even made up stories claiming Aniston and Jolie were furious about the alleged romance. The phony storyline went on for months. It ended around the time Theron herself dismissed the dating rumors.
Last year, there was an ongoing saga involving Pitt dating MIT professor Neri Oxman. That narrative also lasted for months, and Gossip Cop debunked every variation of the theme we could find. That story went away once Oxman refuted the rumors, and she’s since married hedge fund manager Bill Ackman, with whom she recently welcomed a child.
Gossip Cop would also like to remind readers of all those stories about Pitt dating spiritual healer Sat Hari Khalsa. That narrative went on for a while last year until the tabloids got bored and moved on to the next woman he wasn’t dating. Most recently, there have been countless article about Pitt dating Arrested Development star Alia Shawkat. Gossip Cop got an exclusive denial from the actor’s rep, who told us on the record that the two are “just friends.”
Those aforementioned dating rumors don’t even scratch the surface. Since his 2016 split, the tabloids have tried to throw Pitt into romances with Margot Robbie, Jennifer Lawrence, Sienna Miller, Jennifer Garner and Halle Berry, just to name a few. Oh, and remember In Touch? The tabloid that said Pitt and Aniston were tying the knot and having a child? Back in July, the magazine published a cover story about Pitt dating two models, an actress and one of his kids’ teachers, none of whom were identified. We’ll just go ahead and quote Pitt once again: “none of it’s true.”
Gossip Cop has determined this story is accurate to the best of our ability.
