One of the tabloids claims Brad Pitt has been turning down dates because he doesn't want to upset Jennifer Aniston and ruin their friendship. The story is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
According to In Touch, women have been throwing themselves at the movie star, but he's not taking the bait because his relationship with his ex-wife is more important to him. A supposed insider tells the outlet, "Brad's been hit on by stunning women all over the world - famous actresses, businesswoman, regular people he meets in the street and even some who are married! But he's cautious about throwing himself into anything too soon."
The alleged source continues, "His friendship with Jen is really important to him. He's forging a new relationship with her. It would be a lie to say he didn't hope it would become romantic again." Although Pitt briefly reconnected with Aniston at her 50th birthday party in February, the idea that the exes are on their way to becoming a couple again simply isn't true.
Pitt's spokesperson has assured us several times he's not pursuing a romance with his ex-wife. Additionally, the reason he's not dating at the moment has absolutely nothing to do with Aniston. People magazine, a much more reliable source for celebrity news than In Touch, reported last month that Pitt "is more focused on being a dad than on dating." The reliable publication further noted that the actor "seems happy to focus on himself and his kids."
It's worth noting, In Touch is hardly consistent when it comes to making up stories about the ex-spouses. Just a few months ago, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for falsely claiming Pitt and Aniston were having a baby girl together. Last October, the magazine published another article about Aniston being pregnant with Pitt's "miracle baby." And shortly before that, the outlet concocted a story about Pitt and Aniston having a "wedding and a baby." This latest article makes no mention of any of those imaginary scenarios.
Instead, the publication now maintains that the exes are just "friends," but Pitt is hoping they could become something more. That's a major step down from all the babies they've supposedly been having. The reason the tabloid's stories are all over the place is because they're made up on a whim. The unreliable outlet has zero insight into the dynamic between the ex-spouses. Pitt hasn't been turning down dates in the hopes of maintaining a friendship and rekindling a romance with Aniston.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
