Portia de Rossi is confirming what Gossip Cop has rightly said for months: Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston "haven't seen each other." The tabloids have been lying to fans for some time now about the former spouses reuniting. And while we've debunked many of those erroneous stories, de Rossi, a friend of Aniston's, is also now setting the record straight.

In a new interview, de Rossi recalls recently being at a newsstand and seeing a tabloid with Pitt and Aniston on the cover. "I literally just stared at it, and I was like, 'They haven't seen each other... How is this even a thing? I know for a fact [they aren't back together].'" The "Arrested Development" star goes on to reaveal, "I actually took a picture of it and sent it to Ellen [DeGeneres] and said, 'Can you believe this?'"

Even before Pitt and Aniston split from Angelina Jolie and Justin Theroux, respectively, the gossip magazines have been trying to trick fans into thinking the exes are reconciling. There have been dozens of made-up cover stories in the last several years, but also a noticeable increase in these bogus claims since Aniston's February separation from Theroux. Since the beginning of May alone, Gossip Cop has busted five phony cover stories about a nonexistent relationship between Aniston and Pitt. Most recently there was an In Touch fabrication about Pitt and Aniston having a "wedding and a baby," and an equally absurd New Idea falsehood about Pitt and Aniston raising his children together.

People reported back in February that Aniston and Pitt hadn't seen one another "in ages," and "Entertainment Tonight" similarly made clear that Aniston and Pitt were "absolutely not dating." On top of that, their individual spokespeople separately confirmed to Gossip Cop then, and several times since, that they weren't reconciling. Now de Rossi is also making that clear while rightly taking the tabloids to task.

And should anyone question whether she's a reliable source, de Rossi and Aniston have been friends for years, and have hung out together multiple times in the past six months alone. Aniston attended DeGeneres' star-studded birthday party in February. In late March, the talk show host and de Rossi were in Tahiti at the same time as Aniston. And in May, Aniston and DeGeneres had a girls night with de Rossi and Courteney Cox, attending a launch party for de Rossi's art company and going to dinner.

Her comments about Aniston and Pitt came as de Rossi spoke with Us Weekly about being at the center of tabloid divorce rumors. She explained that while those stories are false, being targeted by the gossip media, even wrongly, at least makes her and DeGeneres feel "accepted" as a gay couple. "We get the same [expletive] as every celebrity couple," she said. In fact, only weeks ago Gossip Cop busted New Idea for a totally phony story about de Rossi supposedly warning Aniston to "stay away" from DeGeneres. It should be even clearer now that that was a lie, much like all of the Aniston-Pitt reunion stories are.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is accurate to the best of our ability.
