One of this week's tabloids claims Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston went on a "romantic getaway" following her 50th birthday party. The story is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
As widely reported, the actress's ex-husband attended her birthday party at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles earlier this month. According to Woman's Day Australia, the festivities didn't end there. A supposed source tells the outlet that just days after her party, the exes were spotted at LAX, and the actor "gave Jen the ultimate present" by taking her on a romantic vacation.
"They needed some time alone away from prying eyes," adds the alleged insider. "Everyone knows Jen's still head-over-heels for Brad and the feeling's mutual. Everyone's highly confident they'll use this getaway as a stepping stone to get back together." The suspicious tipster goes on to say that both Pitt and Aniston are "in a place where they are finally ready to find love again," adding, "Everyone wants to see them back together and this romantic getaway is 100 percent the alone time they need."
It's worth noting, the unreliable magazine never mentions where Pitt and Aniston went on their so-called "romantic getaway." If the tabloid's "source" were legitimate, one would think he or she would know such a key detail. Additionally, there are zero photos of the exes together at LAX last week. The two stars are constantly hounded by the paparazzi, as is the Los Angeles-based airport, so how exactly did they go unnoticed?
Despite the outlet's story being completely illogical, Gossip Cop still checked in with a rep for Aniston, who tells us on the record that it's "fabricated." The actress's spokesperson confirms she didn't embark on a getaway with Pitt following her birthday. The magazine's article is pure fantasy.
It must be mentioned, Woman's Day Australia changes narratives on a whim. Less than a month ago, Gossip Cop busted the publication for falsely claiming Pitt had gotten engaged to Charlize Theron. That story came on the heels of a slew of inaccurate articles about the actor supposedly dating the Atomic Blonde star. The two were never in a relationship, and the outlet's latest report never mentions Theron's name once, despite insisting last month that Pitt was set to walk down the aisle with her.
Meanwhile, Gossip Cop called out the tabloid last year for making up a story about Pitt and Aniston getting secretly married again. They didn't. Shortly before that, the publication falsely claimed Aniston was pregnant with Pitt's baby. She wasn't. This latest article about the ex-spouses' imaginary getaway is more fiction.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
