Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston have not "reignited" their romance, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can debunk the false story. As we've already reported multiple times, the former couple is not getting back together.
But the National Enquirer claims Aniston and Pitt have been "secretly meeting for steamy romps all summer — and are now talking about getting hitched to each other again." Amid their respective splits from Justin Theroux and Angelina Jolie, it's alleged the exes have "found comfort in each other's arms and reignited the torrid passion they once shared." A so-called "insider" is quoted as saying, "Brad and Jen's chemistry is more intense than ever and they're both crazy about each other right now."
To that end, the alleged tipster contends to the tabloid that Pitt and Aniston have been "hooking up for no-strings trysts in L.A. and Europe." Despite the purported no-strings-attached approach, the untraceable source claims they've "realized their bust-up was the biggest mistake of their lives," and could end up walking down the aisle again. The magazine goes on to assert the former spouses recently "pledged their love to each other" in front of Courteney Cox and the Clooneys.
The alleged "news" has supposedly "clobbered" Jolie, while Pitt's parents are said to be "thrilled" after his mom "urged her superstar son to get back with his ex." A purported "friend" also maintains to the outlet, "If things keep going as well as they have, you can be sure they'll want to get married again when the dust settles." Adds this unidentifiable pal, "It's something they've discussed. Meanwhile, they're enjoying their hookups like a pair of love-struck teenagers!"
There are multiple problems here. First off, the part about the former spouses committing to each other in front of the Clooneys and Cox was clearly inspired by sister publication In Touch, which about a month ago tried to get readers to believe Pitt and Aniston were "married" again by having a commitment ceremony with their pals in attendance. That contention was provably false, and it's not suddenly true now that the Enquirer is repeating it.
Secondly, there is no evidence that Aniston and Pitt have been meeting up in Los Angeles and Europe. Aniston has not been in L.A. since June, when she left the West Coast to film Murder Mystery in Montreal. And while production later moved to Italy, Pitt hasn't been there. For more than a month, Pitt has been in Los Angeles filming Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. How can he and Aniston be having "hookups" if they've been in different countries? Even before they embarked on their respective movie projects, Aniston's friend Portia de Rossi confirmed she and Pitt "haven't seen each other."
Third, it was only two weeks ago that this same tabloid claimed Aniston was having "secret sleepovers" with Theroux. In that story, the magazine claimed they were having "hush-hush rendezvous as the pair try to restart their romance." Gossip Cop debunked that tall tale, and now the same narrative is being applied to Aniston and Pitt. It's "more of the same B.S.," Aniston's spokesperson tells Gossip Cop. While Pitt's rep declined to comment on the record, a confidante close to him tells us on background that this "romance" article is "obviously false," noting they "haven't seen or spoken to each other."
Conclusion: The National Enquirer claims Pitt and Aniston have "reignited" their romance, but there is zero proof that they have spent any time together this summer. On the contrary, they've been filming movies in locations that are thousands of miles apart. And even before that, Aniston's own friend confirmed on the record that she wasn't seeing her ex-husband. The actress' spokesperson also disputes the allegations, some of which were already corrected last month. As such, this report gets a zero on our fact-or-fiction meter.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
