Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are not engaged, despite an absurd report. Gossip Cop can correct this ridiculous claim, which falsely alleges the former spouses are "ready to head back down the aisle together." We're told it's "false."
According to Yahoo and Woman's Day Australia, Pitt has "popped the question to his ex-wife" and is "hoping to give things a go second time around." A so-called "source" is quoted as telling the online publication, "He didn't make any big, romantic gestures or anything, he just laid his heart out for Jen and told her that she's still the one for him." And in an effort to lend credence to its article, another supposed "insider," Pitt's purported "former bodyguard" Kris Herzog, is quoted as saying, "Brad and Jen are in love and always have been."
The outlets go on to bizarrely allege, "There's just one snag to this alleged 'engagement': both parties are still married," before obviously adding that while Pitt is "in the midst of divorce proceedings from Angelina Jolie, Jen is still very much married to current husband Justin Theroux." Of course, other than the story being entirely nonsensical, it's also all lies. Even though Pitt and Aniston have occasionally communicated via texting in recent years, they have not met up publicly or privately.
And it should be noted that while Herzog is occasionally quoted in stories about Pitt, he has not been a reliable source. He previously wrongly offered bogus details about Pitt and Kate Hudson's (nonexistent) romance. Regardless, Gossip Cop still fact-checked the article, and sources close to both Pitt and Aniston laughed off the tall tale and assured us on background the story is 100 percent "false."
Unfortunately, this isn't the first time Gossip Cop has corrected a manufactured report about the former couple. Recently, we busted The Inquistr when it falsely alleged Pitt and Aniston were "caught kissing" and are "in love." In that fabricated narrative, the website inaccurately claimed the actress couldn't let go of Pitt, and even quoted another publication as saying the actor and Aniston met up and kissed at Soho House in L.A.
Of course, no other outlet in the world corroborated that supposed encounter, which would have been a very noteworthy sighting. And that's because it was made up. Additionally, sources close to both stars assured Gossip Cop the report was not true. Much like that untrue story, this latest one about Pitt and Aniston getting engaged is similarly phony.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
