There have been countless tabloid stories about Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston planning to make a movie together. In reality, the ex-spouses have never discussed teaming up on a project. Here are five wrong rumors on the subject.
Last month, Gossip Cop busted Grazia for making up a story about Pitt and Aniston meeting up on the Sony Pictures studio lot to discuss film projects. The magazine said the exes were brainstorming various ideas, including just executive producing a movie together. The outlet didn't bother to mention exactly when the exes met up, nor did it provide any information about the supposed ideas being discussed. Regardless, separate reps for both Pitt and Aniston assured us they never met up at Sony Studios and aren't collaborating together.
Gossip Cop also called out NW last month for wrongly reporting that Pitt and Aniston would be "teaming up on movies" now that they're on friendly terms again. The ex-spouses founded a production company together back when they were still married, and according to the tabloid, they were going through "old scripts that didn't get off the ground." The magazine further contended the exes were confident "people would go see [a movie] just because they were in it." Like the story mentioned above, the whole narrative came from an anonymous "source," but Pitt and Aniston's reps both dismissed it as fiction.
In July 2018, Gossip Cop corrected the Sun for falsely claiming Pitt and Aniston were teaming up for a romantic comedy. The publication didn't provide any plot details about the alleged project, but said the exes wouldn't be playing a couple in the film, although "their characters would cross paths." At the time the article was published, Aniston's spokesperson assured us it was "another made-up story." As time has proven, the ex-spouses haven't appeared on screen together.
Gossip Cop busted In Touch in April 2017 for alleging that Pitt and Aniston were making a movie to get revenge on Angelina Jolie. The magazine claimed Aniston would be co-starring with her ex-husband in the sci-fi drama Ad Astra, playing a lead female role that was originally meant for Jolie. The actor's rep assured us the report was "total nonsense," while a source close to Jolie told us she was never attached to the project. Additionally, Ad Astra tells the story of a lone astronaut who travels across space to find his missing father, and there doesn't appear to be a prominent female lead. For what it's worth, actress Ruth Negga joined the film in an unknown role in August 2017. Aniston isn't involved in any capacity.
And finally, Gossip Cop busted HollywoodLife in March 2017 for making up a story about Pitt and Aniston working together on an animated film, in which they'd both provide their voices. As soon as the story emerged, Aniston's rep flat-out told us, "There are no projects that Jennifer is considering with Brad." And as is the case with all the stories mentioned above, the passage of time has proven that the ex-spouses never collaborated.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
