Did Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston secretly meet on the Sony Pictures studio lot to discuss movie projects? That's the claim in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we've learned the truth.
According to Grazia, the ex-spouses have had at least two meetings at the Los Angeles film studio. A so-called "source" supposedly witnessed Pitt and Aniston "arriving separately at the studio, where they stayed for three hours." The alleged insider further contends the two met up to brainstorm film ideas, adding, "They had a lot of things in the pipeline at the time of their divorce. Both of them were upset to put those projects aside at the time."
The seemingly phony tipster continues, "They've always been a great foil for each other professionally, and now they both see their long-term futures behind the camera as directors and executive producers." The supposed source goes on to say that Pitt and Aniston have "a few things on the table" and "know that if they released a movie together, even just as executive producers, it would be an absolute sensation."
The outlet doesn't bother to mention exactly when Pitt and Aniston met up at the Sony Pictures lot. The unreliable magazine also doesn't provide a single detail about any of the supposed projects the exes have "on the table." It's always a red flag when a magazine keeps its narratives as vague as possible.
Additionally, the tabloid's premise is based on claims from an anonymous and untraceable "insider," but Gossip Cop reached out to Pitt's spokesperson, who tells us on the record that it's fabricated. We also checked with Aniston's rep, who had no knowledge of any meeting. Despite what the magazine's unidentified source says, separate reps qualified to speak on behalf of both stars say they didn't meet up at Sony Studios and aren't collaborating on a project together.
It's worth noting, this bogus narrative about the ex-spouses teaming up on a movie has been making the rounds for quite some time. Gossip Cop called out HollywoodLife back in March 2017 for falsely claiming Pitt and Aniston were co-starring in a movie together. Shortly after that, Life & Style made up a story about Pitt and Aniston making movie to get "revenge" on Angelina Jolie.
Just two weeks ago, Gossip Cop busted NW for wrongly reporting that Pitt and Aniston were teaming up on movie projects. This ongoing saga simply isn't true. This latest report surrounding a secret meeting on the Sony lot is more fiction.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
