Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are not co-starring in a movie based on their marriage, despite a ridiculous tabloid report. Gossip Cop can debunk the bogus story. There's zero truth to it.
An alleged insider tells Star, "Jen and Brad have been toying with the idea of co-starring in a film loosely based on their own love story and subsequent breakup. The only worry is that it's sure to reopen old wounds, which Jen in particular isn't sure she's ready for." The supposed source adds, "Brad is cajoling her to do it though - he thinks it'll be cathartic for both of them."
Pitt and Aniston co-founded the production company Plan B before their divorce, and the actor has since taken over as the owner. But the suspicious tipster says there are more movie ideas from back when Aniston was involved "that could be resurrected." The seemingly phony insider adds, "There are a lot of new scripts and pitches coming in too, so Jen is helping Brad go through them and figure out what they both can work on."
The outlet's story is based on the word of an anonymous source, but separate spokespeople for both Pitt and Aniston are going on the record to refute it. The actor's rep tells Gossip Cop the story is flat-out "false," while the actress's rep similarly assures us it's "nonsense." It's safe to say that spokespeople for the stars know more about their careers than a tabloid's unidentified "insider."
It should be noted, Gossip Cop has already debunked many variations of this narrative. Back in 2017, we busted Star's sister publication, In Touch, for falsely claiming Pitt and Aniston were making a movie together to get "revenge" on Angelina Jolie. That absurd scenario never panned out.
Just last month, Gossip Cop corrected another untrue story about Aniston pitching Pitt books to turn into movies. And earlier this year, we shot down a false report claiming Pitt and Aniston secretly met on the Sony Studios lot to discuss film projects. These are just a few examples of how the tabloids have peddled this fake storyline. This theme has recurred so often that Gossip Cop actually dedicated an entire article to wrong rumors about Pitt and Aniston making a movie together.
As for the credibility of Star, Gossip Cop should mention that we busted the publication in November 2018 for wrongly reporting Pitt and Aniston were having a baby together. The unreliable outlet has yet to acknowledge why the actress never gave birth to her ex-husband's child. We suspect the magazine also won't address why Pitt and Aniston never co-starred in a movie about their marriage once it becomes even more clear it's not happening.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
