Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston did not meet up again following her 50th birthday party earlier this month, despite a couple of made-up reports making the rounds. Gossip Cop can correct the story. A rep for the actress tells us it's simply not accurate.
Both OK! and In Touch have published stories on their websites claiming the ex-spouses decided to get together following Aniston's birthday bash on February 9. According to the outlets, which don't disclose they're owned by the same company, the exes wanted to meet up again because they didn't get much time to chat at the party. A so-called "source" is quoted as saying, "They had such a nice time and were reminded of what they once had." That's pretty much the extent of both articles.
Neither outlet bothers to mention when and where Pitt and Aniston supposedly met up following her birthday. Those are pretty significant details to leave out of a story about two people reuniting. In fact, there are zero details to back up either publication's poorly explained reports.
It's always a red flag when a tabloid story lacks basic information. It's actually standard practice in journalism to note where and when an event or incident took place. Regardless, Gossip Cop still reached out to Aniston's spokesperson, who assures us on the record that both articles are "just more fabrications." Despite what an anonymous and seemingly made-up "insider" tells the magazines, and he or she doesn't say much, a rep qualified to speak on Aniston's behalf insists the actress and Pitt never had a secret reunion following her birthday.
Oddly enough, the cover of this week's print edition of OK! says Pitt and Aniston secretly vacationed together in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico a few days after her birthday. That report wasn't true either, as reps for both stars told Gossip Cop. But at least the magazine bothered to come up with a fake timeline and location for that story. The outlet's online article doesn't even include those phony details.
Gossip Cop would also like to point out that OK! claimed back in September that Pitt and Aniston were getting married and having a baby. Last month, In Touch similarly published a cover story about Pitt and Aniston having a baby girl together. Neither tabloid addresses those previous storylines in these latest two reports, which simply suggest the exes have been slowly rekindling their romance after reuniting at Aniston's party.
That premise isn't true either. And it's bizarre for the magazines to pretend as if their old articles never existed. In addition to being false, these various reports lack any kind of consistency.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
