One of this week's tabloids claims Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are getting married again now that he's been declared legally single. The story is completely ridiculous. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
Last week, a judge granted Pitt and Angelina Jolie a dissolution of their status as a married couple as they continue hashing out a divorce settlement and custody agreement. This means the exes are both legally single again, despite not being officially divorced. According to New Idea, Pitt plans to take advantage of his status as a single man by walking down the aisle with Aniston.
"As soon as Brad had confirmation he was legally single, he and Jen sent out 'save the dates' to all their close family and friends," a supposed source tells the magazine. The alleged insider further contends that Pitt and Aniston plan to tie the knot at a courthouse in July before flying their loved ones to Mexico "for an intimate beach ceremony." The suspicious tipster goes on to say that as soon as Pitt learned his marriage to Jolie had been dissolved, the actor "set the wheels in motion to make Jen his legal wife again."
As Gossip Cop has repeatedly stressed, Pitt and Aniston aren't back together in any capacity. Separate reps for both stars have assured us countless times they haven't reconciled. The actor stopped by his ex-wife's 50th birthday party in February, but simply because they're on friendly terms. It's worth noting, it doesn't seem as if the exes have spent any time together following Aniston's birthday bash.
Additionally, many reputable entertainment outlets have also confirmed that the ex-spouses aren't back together, despite his attendance at her birthday. E! News, for example, recently noted that Pitt and Aniston "definitely aren't dating or on that path." New Idea is simply capitalizing on the recent news that the actor is officially single again.
It must be mentioned, the unreliable tabloid seems to have a short memory span when it comes to the storylines it creates. Back in February, Gossip Cop busted the outlet for falsely claiming Pitt and Aniston had gotten married at her 50th birthday party, which supposedly doubled as a secret wedding ceremony.
In March, Gossip Cop called out the publication for making up a phony story about Pitt and Aniston going on a honeymoon in Paris following their "wedding." The untrustworthy magazine seems to have forgotten that it already married off the exes and sent them on a European honeymoon. This latest article, which ignores those imaginary events, is more nonsense.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
