Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are not planning a romantic "honeymoon in Italy," despite an absurd tabloid cover story. As Gossip Cop has reiterated several times, the ex-spouses haven't reunited. This latest report in the ongoing saga is more nonsense.
According to In Touch, the exes recently held a "backyard commitment ceremony" in front of their parents, close friends and Pitt's six kids. An alleged insider tells the magazine that the two plan to legally wed once they're both officially divorced, but "they just couldn't wait any longer" to exchange vows.
The supposed source further contends that the pair will soon go on a two-week getaway to Italy, starting with a stay at George Clooney's Lake Como estate. The magazine says Aniston came up with the idea to travel to the European country because she fell in love with it while filming the Netflix movie Murder Mystery. "She would excitedly text and FaceTime Brad while she was making the movie and he was in LA, telling him about each beautiful place she encountered," says the outlet's seemingly nonexistent tipster.
After visiting Clooney's home, "Brad and Jen will be visiting Portofino and other spots on the Italian Riviera, along with the beach in Sardinia," says the alleged insider, who further claims that yacht trips and candlelit dinners are also on the itinerary. "Jen and Brad vowed that this would be as intimate a honeymoon as possible," adds the "source." From there, the seemingly made-up insider claims that Pitt and Aniston will start a family together, adding, "Having a baby will be another in a series of dreams come true for Jen."
The tabloid's story is a complete work of fiction. For starters, Aniston is still filming Murder Mystery in Italy, where she's spent the majority of the summer. The magazine conveniently fails to mention when the actress's supposed "backyard ceremony" with Pitt occurred, but she hasn't been in Los Angeles in months. The outlet is also under the wrong impression that her Netflix project has wrapped shooting.
Additionally, spokespeople for both stars have already told us several times on the record that they're not back together in any capacity. People also confirmed that Pitt and Aniston "haven't seen each other in ages." Meanwhile, Aniston's friend Portia de Rossi confirmed to Us Weekly that she and Pitt "haven't seen each other," adding, "I know for a fact." Also, "Entertainment Tonight" reported last month that Pitt has "taken a step away from dating" as he "doesn't want to rock the boat" amid his custody battle with Angelina Jolie. In other words, the actor's children didn't attend his imaginary commitment ceremony.
Conclusion: Every aspect of the tabloid's cover story is utterly ridiculous. Pitt and Aniston's reps, reliable celebrity news outlets and the actress's own friend have all confirmed the two haven't rekindled their relationship. The timeline of the article doesn't add up either as Aniston and Pitt have been in different countries all summer, making a "backyard commitment ceremony" an impossibility. Simply put, a honeymoon in Italy will not follow a ceremony that never took place.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
