Are Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston really co-hosting a Golden Globes party? That’s what one of the tabloids is reporting. Gossip Cop can correct the story.
According to New Idea, the ex-spouses are organizing a joint party to celebrate them both being nominated for awards. Aniston was nominated for her Apple TV+ series The Morning Show, while Pitt scored a nod or Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. “Brad and Jen hit on this idea a few months ago and are so excited it’s finally going to be a reality,” a supposed source tells the outlet.
The unknown insider adds, “They’ve wanted for ages to get their many shared friends together in one room for something truly intimate and upscale. This will be there way of saying thank you to each other as well as clinking a few glasses and doing some heavy duty schmoozing with the major Tinseltown players.”
The tabloid’s report is based on the word of an anonymous tipster. Gossip Cop, however, reached out to Aniston’s spokesperson, who tells us on the record it’s “fabricated.” The actress’s rep, who’s qualified to speak on her behalf, tells us she’s simply not hosting a Golden Globes party with her ex-husband.
The ex-spouses are indeed friendly these days. Pitt even attended Aniston’s annual Christmas party earlier this month. That doesn’t mean they’re throwing another bash ahead of the Golden Globes. The magazine seems to have concocted this story simply because they’re both up for awards at the same ceremony.
It should be noted, New Idea‘s latest article doesn’t say the exes are back together. Instead, the publication says they’ve “rekindled their close friendship.” That’s quite bizarre, considering the same tabloid claimed this week that Pitt and Aniston had secretly gotten married at her Christmas party. The outlet can’t seem to decide where the two stand, so it throws out every possible scenario to cover its bases. The truth is that the exes are on good terms, but they’re not a couple again.
Meanwhile, the tabloid came up with a different awards-themed storyline earlier this year. Gossip Cop busted the outlet in February for falsely claiming Pitt and Aniston attended an Oscars party together. The magazine said they went as a couple to make their new romance “official.” Neither star attended an Oscars bash, either alone or together. There’s also nothing “official” about their imaginary romance. Pitt and Aniston will be in the same room at the Golden Globes next month, so we can only imagine how the magazine will spin that situation.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
