Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston aren’t back together, nor has George Clooney made any attempts to reunite them. However, Gossip Cop has had to debunk several stories claiming otherwise. Here are a few wrong rumors on the subject.
Earlier this month, Gossip Cop busted Life & Style for falsely claiming Pitt and Aniston went on a getaway to Rome with Clooney and his wife Amal. The magazine contended that the actor was “playing Cupid” for the ex-spouses, so he invited them both to vacation with him overseas. Separate reps for both Pitt and Aniston told us on the record that the trip never took place. Additionally, there’s zero indication that the three stars have all be in Italy at the same as of late. In fact, there’s only evidence suggesting otherwise. Clooney simply never set up a trip to help the ex-spouses rekindle their romance.
Last September, Gossip Cop called out the National Enquirer for similarly reporting that Pitt and Aniston had a romantic dinner at Clooney’s house in Italy. An anonymous source told the outlet that the actor had “played matchmaker” for the exes, adding, “George has made no secret that he’d love for them to get back together. He arranged a dinner for just the two of them and for them to take a sail on a yacht.” Spokespeople for both Pitt and Aniston refuted the report. The dinner was said to have taken place last summer, but Aniston had been in Europe filming the Netflix movie Murder Mystery, while Pitt was in Los Angeles shooting Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The ex-spouses were never in Italy at the same time.
When Aniston visited Clooney’s Lake Como house last summer, RadarOnline made the ridiculous assertion it was a sign she was reuniting with Pitt. The actress stopped by the actor’s home for dinner while she was in town shooting Murder Mystery alongside Adam Sandler, who joined her on the outing to Clooney’s house.
The situation had nothing to do with Pitt, but the blog speculated that Aniston had somehow “just confirmed her rekindled romance” with her ex-husband because she was spotted at Clooney’s estate. The only reason for the flimsy conclusion was that Pitt happens to be friends with Clooney as well. The phony scenario was a major stretch. Aniston simply paid a visit to the actor, and the website arbitrarily dragged her ex-husband into the scenario.
Also last year, New Idea wrongly asserted that Clooney had gotten Pitt and Aniston back together. The magazine claimed the actor had bragged about reuniting the ex-spouses during a dinner with his celebrity friends, including Bradley Cooper and Sean Penn. According to the magazine, the Ocean’s Eleven star “stepped up efforts to reconcile the pair” when he learned Aniston’s marriage to Justin Theroux was ending.
“Now it’s happened, and he’s out there telling anyone who’ll listen that he’s responsible,” said an alleged source. The only remotely true aspect of the story was that Clooney shared dinner with Cooper and Penn last year. He never boasted about getting Pitt and Aniston back together, because they simply aren’t and he never tried to make it happen. All of the tabloids mentioned above decided to concoct this narrative simply because Clooney has a friendship with both stars.
Our Verdict
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
