Brad Pitt did not propose to Jennifer Aniston during a "romantic dinner" at the actress's house in Los Angeles, despite a false tabloid report. The ex-spouses aren't back together, let alone engaged. Gossip Cop can debunk the phony story.
According to OK!, Pitt popped the question to his ex-wife before he took off for the Cannes Film Festival earlier this month. "Jen was completely shocked, but of course she said yes," a supposed source tells the outlet. "Jen and Brad have been through so much together. And even though their marriage didn't work out the first time, they've never stopped loving each other. They know that it's going to be different this time."
The alleged insider further contends that the exes quietly reconnected in February after "sparks flew" at Aniston's 50th birthday party. "They're ready to be husband and wife again, and are telling their inner circle that 'this is our second chance at happiness,'" adds the seemingly imaginary tipster. The so-called "source" maintains that Pitt asked Aniston to marry him during a meal at her Bel Air home, adding, "She looked down and there was a box with a glittering ring inside. Jen immediately teared up but didn't hesitate in answering. The moment she said yes, they kissed."
From there, the untraceable "source" says Pitt and Aniston are planning their future together, which supposedly includes house-hunting in Beverly Hills. As for the "wedding," the suspicious insider claims they're "thinking of something simple and elegant at home - either his or hers - with all of their friends there to witness their renewed love and faith in each other."
Nothing about the magazine's report is remotely true. Earlier this month, in fact, Aniston said in an interview with Harper's Bazaar that she has "zero time" to date and has been entirely focused on work. Around the same time, Pitt laughed off rumors of a reunion with Aniston after the question was posed by a photographer.
Additionally, this narrative about the ex-spouses reuniting is coming from an anonymous and possibly fictitious "insider." Separate spokespeople for both Pitt and Aniston have gone on the record to dismiss rumors of a reconciliation. Despite what the tabloid's alleged "source" claims, reps for both stars confirm they're not back together and certainly aren't engaged.
Last September, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for making up a story about Pitt and Aniston getting married and having a baby. This latest report makes no mention of that bogus scenario. That's because the unreliable outlet comes up with new storylines on a whim. In the world of OK!, the exes tied the knot and had a child a few months ago, but now they're back to just being engaged. Nothing about the saga is a reality.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
