Did Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston really announce they're back together at her Christmas party? That's what one of the tabloids is claiming. Gossip Cop has learned the truth.
Reports emerged this week that Pitt attended his ex-wife's annual Christmas party over the weekend. It didn't take long for In Touch to create a fictional storyline out of the get-together. "It's official! Brad and Jen are back together," an unknown source tells the magazine. "They even briefly made out in front of guests. Some were so happy for them, they were cheering!"
The alleged insider claims Pitt and Aniston "started dating again in secret about two months ago," and have since become more committed to each other than ever. "What better place to come out as a couple than at Jen's Christmas party," adds the anonymous tipster. "They got to tell everyone at once. Brad even made a toast to Jen, telling her it's always been her. When people saw Brad at Jen's house, at such an intimate gathering, their jaws literally dropped. Everyone was surprised and so, so happy for them."
The so-called "source" concludes by saying Pitt and Aniston will go public with their rekindled romance at the Golden Globes next month. "It's the best party of the year and the perfect time to celebrate their love, surrounded by all of their industry friends," adds the unidentified insider. "They'll be Hollywood's big It couple all over again!"
Here's what's true about the magazine's report: Pitt attended Aniston's Christmas party last week. Here's what's false: everything else. The ex-spouses are on good terms, but they're not back together in any capacity. Despite what the outlet's supposed tipster claims, Aniston's spokesperson says on the record that she's not dating her ex-husband again.
Just last week, Pitt's own rep told Gossip Cop "he isn't dating anyone." The actor spokesperson confirmed this following Pitt's New York Times interview, in which he noted, "I don't know how many women they've said I've been dating the last two or three years, and none of it's true."
In Touch pulled a very similar tactic after Pitt attended Aniston's 50th birthday party in February. Following the event, the magazine made up a story about the ex-spouses becoming "Hollywood's golden couple" again. The scenario wasn't true following the actress's birthday, and it's no more accurate following her Christmas party.
It must be noted, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid in January for falsely claiming Pitt and Aniston were having a baby girl together. In the fantasy world of the magazine, Pitt and Aniston were expecting a different "miracle baby" in October 2018. In July 2018, the outlet made up a story about Pitt and Aniston getting married again in his backyard. The tabloid seems to have hit the reset button on their imaginary romance. As of December 2019, the exes got back together "about two months ago." Get ready for a whole new round of weddings and babies in 2020, if not sooner.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
