Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are not having a baby together, despite a late and wrong claim. Gossip Cop can bust it. This story is what happens when a tabloid lazily picks up another magazine’s false allegations without bothering to fact-check.

“Off the back of their intimate commitment ceremony on their 18th wedding anniversary, newly reunited couple Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston have even more reason to celebrate,” contends New Idea. It’s asserted, “The Hollywood couple are ready to take the next step — having a baby!” The publication is basing its contentions off this week’s OK! cover story, which offered a fake Pitt-Aniston “baby announcement.”

On Wednesday, Gossip Cop outlined proof that the exes haven’t gotten back together, much less agreed to have a child together. We also spoke with their individual camps, with Aniston’s spokesperson telling us the report is “complete rubbish.” Pitt’s rep further commented, “It cannot be more false.” But despite our debunking, and despite the fact that no reputable outlets have corroborated the obviously bogus claims, New Idea has seen fit to regurgitate them two days later.

The tabloid quotes extensively from the magazine’s story, and incorporates old, untrue claims from July about Pitt and Aniston getting “married” again. On top of that, the publication also spreads misinformation about Aniston possibly being pregnant, writing, “This news comes as no surprise to fans, who recently spotted Jen cradling what appeared to be a growing baby bump in Montreal earlier this month.”

Actually, Gossip Cop already busted New Idea nearly two months ago for falsely contending Aniston is “finally pregnant.” We were proven right weeks later when, far from displaying a “baby bump,” as alleged, Aniston showed off her abs in a bikini. In other words, the tabloid has a history of not only peddling bogus information from its fellow gossip magazines, but also its own falsehoods.

But there’s something even more eyebrow-raising going on with this latest incident. Earlier this week, New Idea picked up People’s accurate reporting about Aniston being single and not even “concerned about dating.” Yet now the outlet is telling readers she already had a “commitment ceremony” with Pitt and may be expecting his baby. These narratives clearly don’t jive, but New Idea is featuring both of them only two days apart. There is no justifiable explanation, and this is only further evidence that on top of lazily copying from other outlets, the publication doesn’t have any regard for accuracy.
