Where is Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston’s so-called “miracle baby”? Exactly one year ago today, a tabloid falsely claimed the ex-spouses were expecting a child together. Gossip Cop debunked the phony story as soon as it was published, and the passage of time has completely disproven the premise.

On October 3, 2018, In Touch published a ridiculous cover story claiming Pitt and Aniston were expecting a “miracle baby” after supposedly rekindling their romance. According to the magazine, the two stars were going around breaking the pregnancy news to all of their famous friends, including George and Amal Clooney and Courteney Cox.

At the time, an alleged insider speculated that Angelina Jolie was going to be furious when she learned the news, but Pitt and Aniston weren’t concerned with his estranged wife’s feelings. “Brad and Jen want a fresh start after finding each other again,” said the seemingly nonexistent source.

The absurd cover story was based on claims from an anonymous and untraceable “insider,” but Gossip Cop reached out to separate spokespeople for both Pitt and Aniston, who dismissed it as nonsense. Individual reps for both stars assured us the ex-spouses weren’t back together, and most certainly weren’t expecting a child.

Of course, it takes around nine months to give birth, so Gossip Cop could have pointed out three months ago how the tabloid got the story wrong. The one-year anniversary of the bogus article just feels more momentous. In the time since we corrected the report, Pitt and Aniston have been in contact and remain on friendly terms. The actor even attended his ex-wife’s 50th birthday party in February. As for a romantic reconciliation, that’s simply not happening.

It’s worth noting, before it became evident that Aniston wasn’t pregnant, In Touch attempted to continue its narrative with some follow-up stories. In December of last year, Gossip Cop called out the magazine for falsely claiming a “pregnant” Aniston would be spending Christmas with Pitt and his six kids. In January, the unreliable outlet insisted Pitt and Aniston were expecting a baby girl. Neither of those scenarios panned out.

Aniston’s belly never grew, so In Touch decided to drop the storyline in July and create a contradictory one. The tabloid concocted a new and equally untrue article about Pitt dating four different women, none of whom were Aniston. Instead, the actor was said to be romancing two models, an actress and one of his kids’ teachers, none of whom were named. That story wasn’t remotely accurate either, and the magazine never bothered to explain how Pitt went from having a baby with Aniston to dating four mystery women. False tabloid reports never age well, but that doesn’t stop the gossip media from continuing to churn out fiction.
