Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie are often lumped into false tabloid stories together. Gossip Cop has debunked countless phony articles surrounding the trio. Here are five wrong rumors involving all three stars.
Gossip Cop busted NW last October for falsely claiming that Jolie warned Aniston to stay away from Pitt and her six kids. The absurd story was predicated on the idea that Pitt was back with Aniston and allowing her to spend time with his children, which was never a reality. Reps for both stars have assured us countless times that they haven't reconciled. Around the same time the story was published, "Entertainment Tonight" noted that Pitt had "taken a step away from dating because of the importance of his children and also to help mend fences with Angelina." The movie star didn't start dating his ex-wife again, then introduce her to his kids amid a custody battle.
Last August, Gossip Cop debunked an NW story about Aniston going to court with Pitt to help him win custody of his and Jolie's kids. The magazine claimed the actress was going to serve as a character witness for her ex-husband, and "take the stand to defend the devoted dad." Shortly before the phony article was published, Aniston's friend Portia de Rossi told Us Weekly that she and Pitt "haven't seen each other." Sources close to the situation also assured us Aniston wasn't involved in her ex-husband's custody battle in any capacity. Time has proven that to be the case. In November, Pitt and Jolie reached a custody agreement without going to trial.
Gossip Cop also called out the Globe last August for wrongly reporting that the real reason Jolie was battling Pitt for custody of their kids was because she discovered he was hooking up with Aniston again. The publication further contended that Pitt and Aniston had been meeting up for "steamy romps all summer." Only, Aniston spent the summer in Europe filming Murder Mystery, while Pitt spent the summer in Los Angeles shooting Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, so the premise didn't make much sense. Jolie didn't wage a custody battle over a nonexistent hookup.
Also last August, Gossip Cop shot down a RadarOnline story claiming Aniston was "ecstatic" about Jolie supposedly hitting "rock bottom" amid her divorce from Pitt. An alleged source was quoted as saying, "This is a woman Jen views as pure evil, so she is happy to see her miserable and getting the payback she deserves." A rep qualified to speak on Aniston's behalf assured us the story was nonsense. As we noted at the time, when Aniston spoke to CBS about the gossip media in 2015, she compared the ongoing saga about herself, Pitt and Jolie to a "soap opera." The actress further noted that they've all moved on.
And finally, Gossip Cop busted In Touch last May for falsely claiming that Jolie was "furious" about Pitt and Aniston planning to have a baby together. People magazine, a much more reliable source for celebrity news, reported around the same time that Pitt and Aniston "haven't seen each other in ages." The reputable magazine further noted that the exes "aren't in regular contact" and their relationship is "ancient history." Naturally, Pitt and Aniston haven't romantically reconciled, let alone did they have a child together. Jolie wasn't "furious" about an imaginary scenario.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
