A report claiming Brad Pitt is "fighting" with Angelina Jolie over holiday plans was made up. It comes from the same webloid that also published manufactured stories about the former couple's Mother Day and Father's Day. Once again, Gossip Cop is told that no one on either side is talking about such matters with this particular site.
We are, of course, referring to HollywoodLife, which has been caught in so many fabrications over the years that the blog has earned the nickname HollywoodLies. According to this latest concocted article, the estranged parents of six both "want nothing more than to spend time with their kids over the holidays, but we've learned that it's causing major tension between them." Readers are encouraged to "find out why they'll have to make a compromise!" Well, they'll have to compromise because that's what all separated co-parents have to do in these situations.
But to add credence to its "exclusive," the outlet quotes one of its phony "sources" as saying in totally unnatural language, "Brad has been frustrated over locking down Thanksgiving plans with his children and the other upcoming holidays with his ex Angelina. Brad is desperate to spend quality time with his children during the upcoming holiday season. Thanksgiving is special to Brad and his children because they have a lot of tradition that he wants to keep alive for them." A real person wouldn't have felt the need to say "his ex Angelina," nor would an actual person keep repeating "Brad" in every sentence like that.
And after first calling her "Angelina," this almost assuredly non-existent "source" suspiciously switches to "Angie," contending, "Angie never gets back to Brad in a timely manner and lately they have been only talking through assistants." The online publication's fictional tipster goes on, "As if Thanksgiving plans were not difficult enough to nail down, the entire holiday schedule has become a tense negotiation between the pair. Angie wants to take the kids out of the country for some of the holidays and Brad is still trying to finalize plans for turkey."
If this sounds like familiar subject matter, that's likely because Life & Style has a similar story this week, claiming Pitt and Jolie are in a "battle over the holidays." When investigating that tabloid article, Gossip Cop was told by a source close to Pitt that, for the sake of the kids' privacy, no one in his camp was discussing holiday plans and if a schedule had been worked out. That means that no legitimate "source" would go tell HollywoodLies that he's "frustrated" and "desperate" or anything else related to the holidays and the children.
Of course, as Gossip Cop has pointed out, it seems the blog likes using holidays as an angle for its narratives. For example, after making up a story about Jolie's Mother's Day plans, the webloid's fabricated report about Pitt's supposed Father's Day plans blew up in its face. The outlet even manufactured a Halloween-themed story. It seems that for HollywoodLies, holidays are like hooks, excuses to concoct stories that can exploit people's interest in a given celebrity and given celebration. But whether or not Pitt is "fighting" with Jolie over holiday plans, there's nothing authentic about this tale.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
