Brad Pitt's famous exes are hitting on him now that he's single again, according to a suspicious report from a tabloid newspaper. Gossip Cop, however, can exclusively reveal what's really going on.
The New York Post asserts Pitt's former lovers are thrilled he's back on the market. And though the actor has expressed no interest in dating in the midst of his separation, the paper contends he's "fending off advances from multiple wannabe replacements" for Angelina Jolie. The outlet even claims, "Pitt has been hit on by some women, stalked by others, and he has suddenly been contacted by exes."
To make its story juicier, the publication rattles off a list of names Pitt has been linked to (rightly or wrongly) in the past, specifically citing, "Kate Hudson, Juliette Lewis, Christina Applegate, Thandie Newton and Gwyneth Paltrow." Hudson and Lewis are even pictured in the photo accompanying the piece (see above) to make it seem like the two women are trying to get back together with him. Of course, as Gossip Cop has exhaustively reported, all the claims about a romance between Hudson and Pitt were made-up.
But the story is pure sensationalism. Or, as one impeccable contact exclusively tells Gossip Cop, "It's just dumb." Tellingly, the New York Post never says which exes are "knocking down his door," instead keeping its allegations vague. And, even though Gossip Cop has confirmed Pitt and ex-wife Jennifer Aniston have resumed communication, she's curiously not even mentioned.
There's also one obvious, sloppy mistake that's just laughable. Towards the end of the article, it says, "A spokesman for the star wouldn't confirm that Pitt had increased security and changed his phone numbers, and simply said, 'No comment.'" But nothing in the story mentions Pitt's security or his phone number. It's as if that line was copied and pasted from an entirely unrelated post.
Furthermore, this is the second time this week that the paper has been caught sensationalizing Pitt's love life. On Monday, Gossip Cop busted the publication for claiming Pitt and Sienna Miller were "doing some serious flirting" at a dinner for The Lost City Of Z. On Wednesday night, however, the outlet was forced to debunk its own wrong reporting when Miller herself shot down the rumor, saying it was "predictable and silly," and not worth a formal response.
It's also predictable that the New York Post is now trying to tie Pitt to women he hasn't had anything to do with in years. Pitt is certainly working on strengthening his friendships, old and new, as he adjusts to his changed lifestyle. But Gossip Cop is assured by our impeccable contact that there's nothing to back up the salacious claim that Pitt's famous exes are suddenly hitting on him now that he's single again after the Jolie split.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
