Is Brad Pitt really “falling for” 21-year-old actress Ella Purnell, who just so happened to have played the younger version of Angelina Jolie‘s character in Maleficent? That’s the insane claim in one of this week’s new tabloids, but Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we can exclusively set the record straight.
Purnell, an up-and-coming British actress, was recently cast in the lead role of Starz’s upcoming TV series “Sweetbitter,” which is being produced by Pitt. In Touch is now claiming the actor became “smitten” with Purnell after seeing her performance as a young Jolie, and became determined to hire her for one of his projects. A so-called “source” tells the magazine, “Brad had Ella in mind from the get-go. He went out of his way to cast her. Ella is incredibly flattered by the attention she’s getting from Brad. She’s told friends he’s always been her No. 1 celebrity crush.”
The unreliable outlet goes on to contend that Jolie is angry about the pair’s supposed “flirtation,” quoting an alleged insider as saying, “She’s furious about Brad’s interest in Ella… She absolutely hates that Brad is cavorting with someone who played the teenage version of her in a film.” The questionable source goes on to say Pitt isn’t concerned about the 32-year age difference between him and Purnell because “he’s taken” with her personality and acting skills, in addition to her looks.
“The chemistry is definitely there,” adds the seemingly nonexistent insider. “Brad plans on coaching Ella for the show. He sure it’s going to be a hit and that it’s going to make Ella a star.” The supposed source concludes, “It’s only a matter of time before Brad takes their relationship to the next level.”
A source close to Pitt, however, exclusively assures Gossip Cop there’s no truth to the magazine’s story. We’re told the actor isn’t developing a romance with Purnell, and the tabloid’s claim otherwise is entirely fabricated. This article was seemingly concocted simply because Pitt is coincidentally working with a young actress who played his estranged wife in a movie, but the outlet’s rundown of the situation is completely false.
Unfortunately, In Touch has consistently published phony stories about the actor in the wake of his split. Gossip Cop recently busted the magazine for falsely claiming Pitt was worried his kids weren’t getting a “good education” under Jolie’s care. Shortly before that, we debunked the magazine’s cover story wrongly reporting Pitt was getting married to a mystery woman. This latest article is simply more fiction from the untrustworthy outlet.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
