Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce has had several legitimate news angles, but a number of outlets have now seemingly used the couple’s split to manufacture entirely inaccurate claims about each of them. Gossip Cop already twice separated the fact from fiction in the Jolie and Pitt divorce, and since then there are even more made-up stories about the Brangelina split. Below is our third installment.

FICTION: Brad Pitt peed on the runway of the International Falls Airport in Minnesota, where his and Jolie’s private jet touched down after their infamous fight, according to a report by the local St. Paul station MyTalk 107.1, which was widely picked up.
FACT: It’s true Pitt and Jolie had an altercation aboard their plane, and that the actor was drunk at the time. But the claim by the radio show’s hosts that after they landed he got off the jet and “relieved himself on the tarmac” is untrue. No police report was filed, nor did the airport make mention of any such incident. An impeccable Pitt insider exclusively told Gossip Cop the claim was “total and absolute BS.”

FICTION: Brad Pitt is “going to rehab” in an effort to get Angelina Jolie back, according to HollywoodLife.
FACT: Again, while it’s accurate that Pitt was intoxicated on his and Jolie’s private plane while traveling with their six kids, he is not entering a sobriety program. The webloid alleged Pitt is “going to rehab… to quit drinking in hopes that Angelina will reconsider their divorce.” Its seemingly made-up “source” was quoted as saying, “He’ll go to rehab and [Jolie] doesn’t have to agree to take him back until he has 90 days sober, so she knows it’s not just a fleeting commitment.” A mutual friend of Gossip Cop and Pitt assured us the site’s rehab report is “totally false” and “no such discussions ever happened.”

FICTION: Angelina Jolie is being comforted and “consoled” by Johnny Depp, according to The Sun.
FACT: It’s true that Depp and Jolie worked together on the 2010 film, The Tourist, but any claim about him now “consoling” her is false. The British tabloid reported that not only have Jolie and Depp been regularly “speaking about the situation [with Pitt],” but she also “hired Johnny’s [divorce] lawyer to represent her based on the advice that he has given her.” The reality, however, is that Jolie didn’t retain famed divorce attorney Laura Wasser because of Depp, and more importantly, she’s not being “consoled” by him. A Depp confidante exclusively told Gossip Cop the newspaper’s story was “completely false.”

FICTION: Brad Pitt’s fear of aging was the cause of him “taking it out” on Angelina Jolie during their plane fight and now ultimately their divorce, according to RadarOnline.
FACT: The webloid claimed the “secret” behind “Pitt’s anger,” which resulted in him arguing on the plane with Jolie and their son Maddox, stemmed from him being “terrified of aging.” One of the site’s seemingly made-up or completely clueless sources alleged, “He hates the way that he looks right now and he is taking it out on everyone around him.” Of course, “aging” did not precipitate Pitt to fight with his wife or Maddox on the private jet, nor are his “looks” why Jolie filed for divorce. Regardless, a Pitt insider told Gossip Cop the website’s claim was categorically “not true.”

FICTION: Brad Pitt is going to “reunite” with Jennifer Aniston after she also divorces, and she’ll be a “step-mother to Brad’s six kids,” according to Celeb Dirty Laundry.
FACT: The site actually reported that not only is Pitt getting divorced from Angelina Jolie, but Aniston is also splitting with Justin Theroux and will “reunite” with her first husband. The repeatedly discredited webloid wrote after Aniston and Pitt divorce their respective spouses, she will get “back the husband she lost plus the kids she can’t seem to have on her own.” Despite the site’s absurd premise that the first Mrs. Pitt would be getting “sweet revenge” when she helps “raise Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s kids,” Gossip Cop still checked in with an Aniston source, who called the report beyond “untrue.”

While Gossip Cop expected there would be a number of inaccurate reports and a degree of misinformation in the wake of Pitt and Jolie’s breakup, we never anticipated so many outlets would publish such blatantly false claims about them. It’s become clear some highly disreputable sites are downright fabricating stories about Brangelina and their divorce. As a result, Gossip Cop will separate out what’s real, what’s rumor, and what’s really made up.
