Does Brad Pitt's daughter Shiloh call Jennifer Aniston "mommy"? That was the claim made by a magazine exactly one year ago today. Gossip Cop corrected the phony tale back then, and now 12 months later it should be even clearer the entire story was fabricated.
On April 2, 2018, New Idea contended Shiloh asked Pitt whether it would be okay if she called his ex-wife "mommy" after Aniston and the actor's daughter developed a "special bond." To backup up its premise, the tabloid asserted a "source" leaked how Aniston and Shiloh had been "spending a lot of time" together and grown close, much to the dismay of Angelina Jolie. The narrative, of course, was also predicated on the belief that Aniston and Pitt had rekindled romantically.
But it was all 100 percent inaccurate. Aniston and Pitt didn't get back together as a couple, nor did the former "Friends" star forge a "new friendship" with Shiloh. And 365 days later, there have been no sightings whatsoever of Aniston with Jolie and Pitt's first biological child. That's because they've never even met.
In fact, the first verified instance of Pitt even spending time with Aniston in more than a decade was at her 50th birthday party in February, and even then they didn't interact all that much. As we noted last year, Gossip Cop was assured by sources in both Aniston and Pitt's camp that the article was completely absurd. To be sure, Shiloh has been frequently photographed by Jolie's side and never with Aniston.
New Idea hasn't become any more reliable with its reporting about Pitt or Aniston since then. Five months later, the magazine ran a cover that falsely insisted Pitt, Aniston, and Shiloh vacationed together in Italy. No such trip ever took place. Outlandishly, the publication swore up and down the three of them did a "bit of sightseeing" while abroad. And yet no one in the world saw or photographed them?
Just a little more than a week ago, Gossip Cop busted the same outlet when it wrongly maintained Aniston now has a baby bump because she's pregnant with Pitt's child. It was not the first time either the tabloid reported that Pitt and Aniston were having a baby together. Curiously, the publication never addresses these supposed babies in later articles.
The magazine also recently alleged Pitt and Aniston went on a honeymoon in Paris after tying the knot at her birthday. Among the issues with that piece is the actor and Jolie are not legally divorced yet. The truth, for which the tabloid seems to have little regard, is that Pitt and Aniston did not got married at her 50th birthday, and no respected outlet claimed they did.
When Gossip Cop looks back at a bogus report, such as the one about Aniston having a bond with Pitt's daughter Shiloh, it's to help visitors understand who they can and cannot trust. There's no question that story was a lie, as were the subsequent tales about the exes. We know why people love the fantasy of them reuniting, but that's all it is... a fantasy. For those who want the facts, however, there's only one Gossip Cop.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
