A new report suggesting Brad Pitt is “crushing” on “Game Of Thrones” star Emilia Clarke is fake news. The claim was manufactured by an often untrustworthy site simply because Pitt attended a charity event and bid during an auction on the opportunity to watch an episode of the HBO series with Clarke. Gossip Cop is told there’s nothing beyond Pitt trying to be charitable.

Here’s what happened: Pitt attended the seventh annual “Sean Penn & Friends Haiti Rising Gala,” which benefits the J/P Haitian Relief Organization, and he bid up to $90,000 to watch an episode of “Game Of Thrones” with Clarke, who was at the charity event as well. No reputable outlet, including Variety where HollywoodLife ripped off some of the basics for its article, reported anything remotely about Pitt “crushing on” Clarke. That site, however, contends Pitt’s bids led it “to wonder if the hunk has a crush.” And though the actor was outbid by another partygoer, HollywoodLies, as it’s known, adds that if Pitt had won the special screening, “Would a new romance brew?”

Of course, there’s no real basis for assuming Pitt is “crushing on” Clarke, but reality often doesn’t play a role in HollywoodLies’ articles. The repeatedly discredited site further writes, “It wouldn’t be too much of a surprise if Brad had a crush on Emilia.” The blog goes on to offer that with a new year just beginning, “It would make sense for Brad to want to start off fresh and possibly dive right into finding a new mate.” The absurd outlet ends its speculative and highly fabricated piece by then absurdly asking its readers, “Do you think Brad has a crush on Emilia?”

Again, Pitt did nothing more than attend a charity event. It should be noted that it’s actually beyond offensive to Clarke and Pitt that HollywoodLies would think the actor could (or would) try to buy the “Game Of Thrones” star’s affection. Additionally, what the site purposely neglected to mention was that Pitt upped his bid from $90,000 to watch “Game Of Thrones” to $120,000 when he found out Clarke’s co-star Kit Harington was also at the Haiti fundraiser and would be apart of the special screening.

Funny, but the site doesn’t ask whether Pitt is “crushing on” Harington. Also, while the actor failed to win a few other items up for auction, Pitt did successfully bid $40,000 on an “experience” with the San Antonio Spurs. Maybe he’s “crushing on” the team’s point guard Tony Parker?

Basically, HollywoodLife has a reputation for making up a lot of phony stories about Pitt. Just a few months ago, for example, Gossip Cop nailed the outlet for concocting a fake news story about Pitt wanting to get back together with Angelina Jolie. Much like that article and scores of others from the blog, the latest suggesting Pitt is “crushing on” Clarke is a complete lie, confirms his rep to Gossip Cop.
