Did Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie agree to spend Christmas together? Rumors are spreading across tabloids and webloids, but there's no evidence the claims are actually true. In fact, sources with whom Gossip Cop spoke were unaware of any such confirmed plans.
But HollywoodLife writes, "It's a Christmas miracle! Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will set their differences aside, as a new report claims the exes have agreed to spend Christmas TOGETHER with the kids." Picking up these assertions from OK!, the site quotes a so-called "source" as saying, "They're not getting back together, but that doesn't mean they can't celebrate as a family." This supposed snitch is further quoted by both outlets as contending, "The holidays make Brad really sentimental about family and especially about his kids. Pampering them makes him feel good, and Angie doesn't want to interfere with that."
Tellingly, though, neither the original report nor the regurgitated version state just where Pitt and Jolie allegedly plan to hold this celebration. It's also not said if this joint holiday includes Christmas Eve in addition to Christmas Day. It's not surprising that OK! wouldn't have specific (and real) details about this purported "Christmas reunion." After all, this is the same magazine that last year lied about Jolie and Pitt having a "Thanksgiving reunion." And HollywoodLife's track record isn't any better.
While the online publication is now running the tabloid's assertions as if they're fact, the blog previously maintained less than two weeks ago that Pitt was worried about Jolie's Christmas plans and feared he wouldn't be able to see the kids. That made-up "exclusive" isn't mentioned anywhere in this new post about sharing in the festivities together. That's because the webloid has no idea what's really going on, and the magazine doesn't either. No legitimate sources connected to either Jolie or Pitt would leak their holiday plans to either disreputable outlet, and they've both proven to be out of the loop in the past with their previous falsehoods.
While Jolie and Pitt could conceivably have some interaction on the special day, Gossip Cop is told that no one actually close to them is publicly disclosing their plans at this time. Last year, Pitt did have a Christmas visit with the kids, and he no doubt wants to again. But however the holiday is spent, together or apart, Gossip Cop is told the details currently circulating are just made up.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
