Have Brad Pitt's "anger issues subsided" because he's dating again? That's the theory one tabloid is floating online, but the story is filled with false information. Gossip Cop can set the record straight.
According to Life & Style, "Shortly after Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt in September 2016, the actor was painted as an alcoholic with an anger problem. But these days, he isn't letting his ex's antics get him down — and it may be due to the fact that he's dating again!" After regurgitating its claims about Pitt and Jolie battling over the holidays, but the actor remaining calm, the tabloid contends, "This attitude adjustment could be a result of the 53-year-old's new social life."
The gossip magazine then repeats sister outlet In Touch's untrue assertion that Pitt is falling for Ella Purnell, who played the younger version of Jolie's character in Maleficent. But Gossip Cop busted that false allegation nearly a month ago. Life & Style, however, is not only bringing up that wrong link to support its story, but is also spreading the made-up New Idea report about Pitt dating Charlotte Casiraghi. Gossip Cop debunked that contention, too.
So what we have here is Life & Style maintaining that the reason Pitt is less angry these days is because he's dating Purnell and Casiraghi. That premise just doesn't hold up when you consider the fact that the actor isn't actually romantically involved with either woman. That said, it is true that Pitt finds himself more at peace these days. That has to do, though, with self-improvement, not dating. He spoke candidly to GQ earlier this year about going to therapy and addressing feelings he previously avoided. If Pitt's a better man, that's the reason why, not because of his "social life."
And by using falsehoods to try to support its inaccurate take, the tabloid only proved that it really doesn't have any insight on him at all. Of course, Gossip Cop already knew that. This is the same magazine that actually told readers earlier this year that Pitt and Jolie were "back together." If you want bad dish, the gossip media is continually cooking some up. But if you want the truth, stick with us.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
