A new tabloid cover story alleging Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's marriage was volatile from the very beginning is completely inaccurate. The bogus report contends that the actor has come to realize in the wake of their split that the relationship was "12 years of hell," but that's not the case. Gossip Cop can exclusively set the record straight.
The latest issue of Star claims the estranged spouses' relationship was "plagued by drama and anger" from the onset. A so-called "source" tells the magazine, "In hindsight, they really had nothing in common besides great sex. He's sat up many nights going over what happened, and he's analyzed it again and again in therapy. He realizes his relationship with Angie was toxic from the start."
The outlet goes on to reference the physical altercation between Pitt and the couple's son Maddox on a 2016 flight, which ultimately led to their separation. "That disastrous plane ride was the result of years of pent-up frustration," says the alleged insider, who further asserts that Jolie "completely ignored" her husband while they were married and spent all of her time focusing on their six kids. "They were living separate lives and making each other miserable. His marriage to Angie was tough, and the divorce was even worse."
Of course, it makes very little sense that a couple with such a problematic relationship would stay together for more than a decade and raise six kids under one roof. Regardless of this story being entirely illogical, Gossip Cop still checked in with a mutual pal of ours and Pitt, who exclusively assures us the tabloid's account of the exes' marriage is simply wrong. Pitt and Jolie had many years of happiness together and their bond became even stronger while raising their children. Yes, the marriage ultimately ended, but the assertion that their relationship was always strained is simply ridiculous.
It should be noted, the tabloid's deceptive cover features a photo of Pitt with a scrape on his face, seemingly insinuating that Jolie caused the injury through some act of "violence." The picture, however, was taken in April 2015 after Pitt tripped up a flight of stairs while wearing flip flops. And while the publication promises to take readers "inside the violence, cheating and lies," the the only "violence" mentioned in the piece is the isolated incident on the plane. The "cheating and lies" actually refers to the actor's marriage to Jennifer Aniston. Infidelity played no role in Pitt and Jolie's split.
Unfortunately, Star has published several phony covers stories about the estranged spouses. Earlier this year, Gossip Cop called out the magazine for incorrectly alleging Jolie was writing a tell-all book about Pitt. Shortly before that nonsense, we busted the tabloid for falsely claiming Pitt and Jolie's divorce papers had been revealed. This latest cover story is yet more lies.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
