Angelina Jolie is not spoiling her kids any more now than when she was still with Brad Pitt. However, an often discredited website has manufactured a story that falsely claims Pitt is suddenly "worried." Not surprisingly, an equally unreliable blog has picked up the phony report and regurgitated the untrue premise without bothering to fact-check it. Gossip Cop, however, can debunk these bogus tales.
It all started, as it far too frequently does, with HollywoodLife alleging that Pitt is "worried" his estranged wife is "spoiling" their children. Apparently forgetting how the couple routinely traveled across the globe with their children on private jets and vacationed in several luxurious locations, including their chateau in France, the serial fibbers at HollywoodLies, as it's known, now asserts Pitt "isn't thrilled" with their trips. It bears mentioning that because of their custody issues, Jolie is actually far more limited with how she can travel with the kids than she had been before.
Now that Gossip Cop has reminded you of the truth, let's examine the latest from that habitually disproven blog. To give the impression that it has some inside information, the outlet maintains it has a "source close" to Pitt who has shared his thoughts about Jolie "spoiling" their six children. Of course, Pitt's camp has frequently told Gossip Cop that no one "close" to Pitt is leaking anything to places like HollywoodLies.
That said, the seemingly fabricated "source" begins by saying, "Brad fears Angelina is spoiling the kids. He wishes Angie would stop buying the kids stuff they don't need." OK, we're going to stop here and point out for readers how they too can detect when sites like HollywoodLife are lying. No real person who's supposedly "close" to Pitt would refer to Jolie as "Angelina" and then eight words later call her "Angie." That's typical of blogs that sloppily concoct quotations.
Right after that, HollywoodLies refers to Pitt as "the Oklahoma native" before launching into more questionable quotes about him being concerned the children are being "spoiled." While Pitt was born in Oklahoma, he moved out of the state shortly afterwards. As he told Parade in 2007, after a stop in St. Louis, "by the time I was in kindergarten, we lived in Springfield, Missouri. There I basically grew up." Exactly how "close" to the actor is the so-called "source" if he or she doesn't know whether he refers to his estranged wife as "Angelina" or "Angie" and is a bit off about where Pitt grew up?
So, how exactly does Jolie "spoil" the children? The site notes she takes them on "endless shopping trips," but doesn't offer a single example of that. And it states the Oscar-winner has taken them to "amusement park birthday celebrations and even the Louvre Museum in Paris." Jolie's visit to the Louvre with the kids was more than a year ago in January 2018 when she was flown on business to Paris to shoot an ad for the perfume company Guerlain. And the 30-minute trip from Los Angeles to Disneyland in Anaheim for Knox and Vivienne's 9th birthday celebration was nearly two years ago in July 2017.
Naturally, the cut-and-paste site Celebrity Insider picked up the story without verifying whether or not it was true. And it also vaguely wrote without any specifics how Jolie and her brood "regularly go shopping together but also go to amusement parks and travel all over the world."
Sadly, none of this is shocking, considering how many times Gossip Cop has caught HollywoodLies making up articles. Just recently, Gossip Cop busted the website for posting a wholly fictitious story about how Jolie "misses" Pitt and is sad their marriage is ending. It's also the blog that actually alleged Jolie tried to get Pitt back with the help of Selena Gomez. Neither of those tales were remotely true, and we're told the latest one about Pitt being "worried" that Jolie is "spoiling" their children is not accurate either.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
