Do Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s kids “really love” Jennifer Aniston? That was a magazine claim from exactly one year ago today. At the time, Gossip Cop noted it was all made-up, and now 12 months later it’s clear Pitt’s six children have no feelings for his first ex-wife because he’s never introduced her to them.

On March 12, 2018, New Idea insisted Jolie and Pitt’s kids had finally met Aniston, and they “really love” their dad’s first wife. In an attempt to make its story seem credible, the often discredited tabloid alleged it had a source who shared how the kids and Aniston “formed a very special bond.” The publication even contended Pitt “told friends” Aniston is a “great mom” to his children.

But more significant than what the tabloid published was what it didn’t. For instance, when did Aniston meet Pitt’s kids? And how has she supposedly been a “great mom” to them? In what ways have the actress and the children “bond[ed]”? And which “friends” did Pitt tell this all to? Not surprisingly, the magazine had no answers to any of those questions 365 days ago. Nor does it now. It seems the outlet simply concocted those assertions without any proof whatsoever.

Last year, reps for both Pitt and Aniston had acknowledged the two former spouses hadn’t seen each other in a very long time, making it impossible for his children to have met and created a “special bond” with Aniston. It was only this year that Pitt saw Aniston at her 50th birthday party. And he didn’t bring his children during his brief appearance at the bash.

Unfortunately, New Idea hasn’t gotten any more accurate or reliable since its untrue article last year about Pitt calling Aniston a “great mom” to his kids. Just within the past few weeks alone, for instance, Gossip Cop busted the same magazine for a fictitious tale about Pitt and Aniston going to an Oscar party together. They didn’t, and no legitimate outlet claimed they did.

And prior to that entirely false report, Gossip Cop corrected the same untrustworthy publication when it maintained Aniston and Pitt got married at her 50th birthday party. That also never happened, nor was there a chance of it, considering Pitt is still married to Jolie. And while the tabloid’s bogus premise was based on an anonymous and unaccountable “source,” Aniston’s rep went on the record to call the story a “fabrication.”

Lastly, days before that insane claim about Aniston exchanging vows with her ex at her birthday, the magazine swore up and down Jolie was stealing Pitt back from Charlize Theron. None of that was true either. The estranged spouses are pushing forward with their divorce, and Pitt and Theron have never been romantically involved, his rep confirmed to Gossip Cop.

When Gossip Cop revisits articles from the year before, it’s to help visitors figure out which outlets they can and cannot trust. It was obvious a year ago that Pitt and Jolie’s kids didn’t have a closeness with the former “Friends” star, and it’s even more apparent now. Perhaps even more clear is that the tabloid frequently publishes fan fiction about Pitt, Aniston, and Jolie.
